Is this the Robyn that Britneys was based on?

Yes that’s the one, but search show me love, everything came 2 years earlier than Britney’s debut

Very true about Jlo...

but with Britney, the label showed her Robyn’s music and videos and said this is the direction they are going to which she said “I like it, it makes me want to dance. why is she not dancing in her videos?” Don’t downplay what’s she has done. She pretty much took that and made it her own by adding her own touches. What makes it work with her is she’s able to have the right balance naughty and nice. Something labels couldn’t get exactly right.

I’m not sure where is that source from? but I’m not downplaying her, Jive records was always abusive and controlling, they wanted another Robyn who could execute every idea they had, and Britney did that
Some of us complain of how little artistic intervention Britney has in her proyects which doesn’t mean she has any, it means that most of her ideas are denied

Note: Should i add RihRih too? We all know she had her far share of impersonators too.

Its funny how Britney was trying to be the next Mariah carey but when they saw how good looking she was they were like "emmm nope, we have other plans for you"

I understand Billie but Lorde? She is basically a glorified one hit wonder

I prefer Lorde’s artistry to Lana’s, and Lorde had Royals, Team, and Tennis Court as hits (Royals ofc being the massive one), but I’ve never heard Lana  on the radio/talked about very much here (US)

Also by a test of just name recognition, a lot more people know Lorde than LDR (in my experience in the US at least)

Idk I’m not saying one is better than the other but success-wise I think Lorde has the edge

LaLuna

Well I definitely remember that in the early 2000s there were loads of pop girls who came out right after Britney, like Mandy Moore and such. Same with boybands. After Nsync and Backstreet Boys, boy bands starting popping out everywhere.

Madonna probably had a lot of wannabes too, but I don't remember them apart from Cindi Lauper.

Britney was first.

Also @Aarghya i want to offically apologize. After a extensive research i think i have to agree. Britney was more Janet than Madonna

Also aparently Britney is a HARDCORE Janet jackson fan too and btw i just heard Rythim Nation and its a fkn iconic song.

Thoughts on this @Gimme More ?

Britney seems like a way bigger fan of Janet than Madonna.

Britney has always said how Janet is one of her biggest inspirations. Fun fact Britney's song 'Boys' was originally for Janet :firega:

OT: I'd say Britney, ALL the record labels wanted the next Britney and tried to make their artists like her, Pink has said this, Christina, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson and I can list so many more.

You’re asking me as if this is my own quote :messga: Ask William Anthony Donohue, the man who’s quote you used :laughga:

You bring it here wich means you agree with him and is basically like you wrote it.

Yes because she was Max Martin’s protege and when she left him, Max wanted to make Britney his new Robyn. He forced her to sing in that nasally and would have her sing every word so he can splice together the best sounding takes. Cyndi Lauper said he tried to do that with her
