My godness I guess your source is mediatraffic (which is a joke) the album sold well over 2m units according to chartmasters (which is not perfect but far better than mediatraffic) and no It's not bad at all, the album was barely promoted and carried only by one song. Nobody was expecting Chromatica to even come close to ASIB in sales because that album was promoted everywhere via the movie but it did had a good impact on Chromatica because her streaming got a lot better. Chromatica was not a "success" that you will brag about but also not a flop either. I agree with you 100% Chromatica did good with 1 performance. ASIB was a commercial success but with promo and completly diffrent sound. Nobody was expecting Chromatica to do the same. If Gaga did promo like Dua, I think the album would be platinum in US by now and will be probably later this year. Gaga is very promo sensitive and we all know that. So Chromatica did just fine. In my opinion, I think Chromatica was a big update from Joanne because now we saw that she adapted on the streaming era and she ended up pulling good numbers without even needing promotion (something that all of us wanted during Joanne because we knew that the sales for her wont be the same anymore duo to sales being dead). I think she will still do promo for her albums in the future, this era was just very unfortunate, we saw that she wanted to do promo but things just didn't work out but anyway with the streaming that she got + her being promo sensitive, I see a bright future for her. Being close to 1.4 streams on Spotify , with one performance, is nothing to be ashamed about. And the Dua comparison makes no sense to me. Lets see how Dua will do 12 years into her career.A lot of female pop artists from 2009 can barely chart on the hot 100 anymore, and their album barely survive 2/3/4 weeks in the top 200.
