COVID only applies for Gaga it seems. Literally everyone is doing performances and interviews, just promoting normally. Miley has performed her latest single like every week, Doja too, BTS did a 2 hour concert in an arena and stadium...

Doja is a new artist who needs to promote while she's hot. Miley hasn't had a big song since "Wrecking Ball" 7 years ago, and finally "Midnight Sky" is shaping up to be huge and she's doing everything for it to stick. BTS's concert was done in South Korea, where Covid hasn't been an issue for months.

Why not compare Gaga to someone who's actually in a similar situation as Gaga? Taylor Swift hasn't done anything since folklore dropped.

Also, it's crazy how quick you guys forgot that she literally turned the VMAs into her own show (which probably took months to plan) and that she just released a huge music video that was filmed during the pandemic.

BTS is in South Korea where they actually have the pandemic in control, which leads to more possibilities in terms of work, Miley is doing a lot of her stuff on her own and with a reduced team (and the reduced production value actually fits with the aesthetics of Midnight Sky), Doja is a new artist and probably uses non-union work to get her performances done (and supposedly already had Covid).

Every person’s moral compass is different. Are any of those other artist STILL handing their platforms over to charitable organizations?  Gaga is choosing philanthropy over album promotion. Go cry some more about not getting some performances of covers.

What does everyone think about artists putting albums up for preorder as tour bundles given the current situation??

In the UK Gary Barlow (from Take That) has just announced a huge arena tour for next year and is doing an album/ticket bundle.

It’s highly likely that any tours for 2021 won’t be going ahead and so it just seems like a ploy to get a big first week sales and then they will cancel nearer the time.

As many times as people come onto a forum for Lady Gaga fans expecting them not to be disappointed that she released an album and, despite being told otherwise repeatedly, never did anything outside of 1 performance and 2-3 interviews? As many times as “COVID” will be the reason given despite her manager saying that they had to modify plans and other artists are continuing to promote their product?

So, my god, “shut up” and realize that music is a product and being a musician is a profession. When you want consumers to remain happy and invested in your product, you - at minimum - keep up with competitors. If the industry standard for pop musicians is to promote and perform in order to earn their fans’ support and investment in their singles, albums, and tours, then I’m not sure why anyone thinks they have the right to throw out the “she owes you nothing” BS.

Nah. Gaga (a legend) doesn’t need to keep up with the newbies anymore (or artists past their prime who need as much promo as possible to get their first hit in over half a decade)

And?

How many f*cking times are y’all gonna complain & whine “well Miley did this!!! And Dua did this!!! BTS blah blah!!!”

Ok and? If Gaga doesn’t want to promote then she doesn’t have to.

She owes you nothing. Shut up and just stream the album & watch the videos my god lmao

Stop being rude to people. For example, I am a fan of Gaga from the very beginning of her career, I spend at least 200-400 Euros for each new era, I always support Gaga as much as I can, but even I don't understand everything right now, we see ads for anything but the new era. For me, this era did not begin, and did not begin, although you can safely do promos and so on, there would be a desire, already sick when they talk about it Covid.

I don’t get why people feel the need to jump out to argue against anyone who says the era has been disappointing. It feels like you use the “she owes us nothing” narrative to convince yourself that you aren’t as disappointed as the rest when in reality you are.

Gaga doesn’t owe us anything, but we also don’t owe her anything in return. We don’t need to “shut up and just steam the album” when we aren’t receiving much on her end to feel motivated to that.

The fan-artist relationship is a reciprocal one. You shouldn’t expect fans to be engaged or happy if you aren’t giving them much.

You don’t need to go on a rant when someone expresses disappointment. Gaga is not reading this thread, you are not gonna impress her by defending her :yennefer:.

TLDR: Saying you are not happy with how the era is going is not saying she owes us anything. Saying it is not being entitled unless you are being disrespectful. You don’t need to give Gaga anything in return if you don’t feel motivated to do so.

Nnnn this tea

Honestly I don’t think half the people in here bitching about the lack of promo would be doing so if Chromatica was performing as well as folklore did without promo
