It's a heavy song for anyone to listen to and I'm guessing it was heavy for her to perform as well, which is probably why she didn't. The loud vocals also didn't help its case which is why it bombed on callouts and radio rejected it (even though she visited countless radio stations for it and performed at a few so she did promote it, at least more than Chromatica singles). I think because it's the only song on the album that would remind people of the old electronic pop Gaga sound but also show them a new side of her. I think it was a fine choice as a lead single, it just didn't resonate with people the way they thought it would. I don't believe this commercial has the strength to put Sine in the spotlight on UK Charts, this effect only occurred on iTunes Italy because you only need to sell like 15 copies to enter the Top 30 there. It should have been an album track , and thats it. It basically was released when mid tempo tropical was at its peak, and PI was an aggressive, repetitive uptempo song with a key change lol. We will forever wonder why Interscope chose it as the first single (Even Mark himself said he worried he might have 'messed up' with the song' when it crashed and burned on the charts).
