So if that's the case, surely ROM is gonna get the MR treatment. (until hopefully sour candy end of September) We could all be clowns and watch in shock as a new single is announced at the VMAs but I personally don’t see a new song being pushed to radio. I think Interscope and Gaga will just focus on promoting the album. Blade sounded like he was not even convinced that another video was shot after ROM. Nah I don't either I think they'll carry on ROM and overall album - they'll keep it on HAC/AC for as long as possible. I think something must be shot but that might be for SFA for the perfume thing.. I guess we will wait and see. I'm happy for them to just re push ROM if it is able to happen. Let's hope Ari is announced as a guest performer for ROM as well as a medley - two YouTube videos = extra streaming pts Stare at the Chartster in the mirror they talk to me too. #StreamFunTonight

JustJames 968
Following the mental gymnastics in this thread since SL debuted has been exhausting. "See? I told you she'd resume promo!" adds to a growing, tiresome list of justifications that simply aren't needed. The discussion re: promo wasn't whether between now > retirement Gaga would mention Chromatica. It was about the slow, painful deaths of 2 songs + 1 album w/ massive debuts on every platform / metric. 1. "Gaga's streaming poison." / "We can't compare her to streaming-era artists like Dua." 2. "Promo is dead in 2020; she wouldn't get much of a boost anyway!" 3. "HAC-Ga is what the GP wants!" Chromatica had the 1 of the biggest debuts of '20 / ROM is STILL in the Top 10 on Spotify, comparable to all those younger pop-stars. HAC-Ga did great; but, the debut stats for everything Chromatica (streams, Charts, Pop Radio peaks, MC, retroactive reviews of ARTPOP) all indicate massive demand for DANCE-Ga. Chromatica non-singles earn < 100k streams/day. There's no logical way to conclude how fans, let alone the GP, feel about Chromatica, because they have NO IDEA it exists. When her dance hits (released 10+ yrs prior to Spotify) earn > 300k/day, the hypothesis that the GENRE of her music is to blame for any under-performance is very unlikely. Pulling ROM from Pop Radio was a disaster, regardless of who did it / why. Callouts have no correlation to PR on stations like Z100, where 'RITMO,' 'Circles,' and other songs w/ horrible callouts have been overplayed for > 1 year. There were 2 key moments that could've had a MAJOR impact on the longevity / success of this era: 1. Stupid Love (~Week #7): after a ~2-month run near #30, SL dropped to ~#60, while being pulled from Pop Radio; had a deal been for ROM, this could've made sense. But, ROM never received the Pop Radio support expected to keep it Top 10 all summer. a) Keeping SL on Pop Radio would've allowed it to Chart ~4-6 weeks more total and ~2 more Top 40 post-album release. (+continued weekly promo from BB) b) Having SL alive on the Charts during ROM/album promo week would've given more exposure / Gaga a true solo hit from the era w/ steady Radio + BB100 presence. c) 2 singles in the Top 40 to carry the album would've been a lot more beneficial to getting deeper cuts exposure >05/29. 2. Rain On Me (~Week #4/9): ROM's peers on BB100 ("Savage," "Blueberry Faygo") had enough points to fight the debuts / album bombs of the last ~6 wks; ROM should've had no problem keeping up w/ those after its initial drop to #10. a) The week it dropped to #11 was the first miss. ANY digital content / signed copies / pre-recorded perf. could've kept it Top 10. b) Following an avoidable tumble, ~Week 9 was the next big miss; allowing it to enter ACR in the UK without attempting to prevent it was insanity given its massive success there. Likewise, US Pop Radio would've kept it Top 20 until VMAs, as every other metric has stablilized. W/ no Single #3 to make room for, there's literally no rationale. The buzz re: VMAs perf. shows how promo impacts Gaga / her discography. We KNOW this. From getting Million Reasons ~Top 50 after PI bombed via the Dive Bar Tour, Victoria's Secret, etc. / Til It Happens To You entering the Hot 100 post-Grammys / Bad Romance re-entering the Hot 100 post-SB. SL could've easily had a 12-wk run (~8 or so Top 40), Chromatica should've easily clocked 3-4 wks atop BB200, and ROM should've bounced between #5-10 since its peak.
