The thing with MR was not that it started out the gate smashing, more the long term that came after. Superbowl and discount made it a hit in the US 2017, and it became an organic hit in European markets - which was a good sign that they were here for this new Gaga (ASIB ended up smashing harder there than anywhere else).

But what really made MR a recurrent monster, was the ASIB album and era came a year later. When that album and era took off, Joanne her last album, benefitted the most as a catalogue. Much more than if she'd have done a Redone album. HAC music is at much less risk of becoming dated. It's quite telling that her best recurrents are all ballads - she has no dance pop songs over 500m streams on Spotify. 

Women are different to men in pop. They are replaced by Dua etc in the eyes of Gen Z. By making her music HAC, she tapped into a demography that already was here for her (When she performs her songs - ITunes is where you see the best results, this had been happening with Gaga for years) and she reaped the rewards. Gen Z in 2020 don't see Gaga as the Gen Z in 2009 did, its hard for a woman like her to now become cool. She's more like the cool auntie, and her other demographic want ASIB music - so that's why Chromatica may be suffering with a longevity issue combined with the 2020 climate.

Interscope usually displays 7 current singles on their Playiga site, but for some reason now they have 6 singles and one announcement (Blackpink x Selena). Why are Liddos angry at Interscope for replacing ROM with My Future, when they should focus that same energy on ROM being removed while the announcement is taking its place?

It is true, but maybe you messed up some numbers. Gaga doesn’t have a song above 500M streams yet other than Shallow. Above 400M there are ARUTW, MR, BR and PF, two of them are dance pop songs. From this four songs MR is currently the least popular.

I think the Chromatica release benefits PF and BR more - but MR is more streamed overall than both BR and PF, and will make it to 500m streams before PF and possibly BR too - and MR is no where near being  a diamond global single like the other two songs are. I still think HAC is where she can benefit the most  but I'm glad she did this music because its what I like
