Dua has a new song with J Balvin and Bad Bunny, honey

She would still be above Gaga without that song.

She's also 4 years younger.

Gagz was “streaming poison” up until Shallow came out - less than 18 months ago. But in that time she’s gotten 1.2 billion for that song and increased ha monthly listeners to close to 60 million. Her being 5th right now amongst the main girlies is truly amazing considering where she was 1.5 years ago, with or without Chromatica’s help. At the end of the day, by the end of the year Chromatica should hit 1.5 billion streams and become ha second most streamed album after ASIB, which should hit 3 billion. Not bad for “streaming poison”.

She's not a streaming poison anymore, hence why these numbers are a bit disappointing. We can't use the "streaming poison" excuse forever. :smh:

You’re not getting it. Her being streaming poison isn’t the issue - it’s how quickly she went from poison to gold within 18 months. Do you think that type of astronomic growth is sustainable? You’re constant disappointment is a bit disappointing :yennefer:

Streaming poison or not to the side.... Gaga isn't that kinda artist who can just release and smash out of the gate without doing promotion from her side. Hardly anything she released was a no-brainer (primarily in the 2nd half of her career).

She did a lot of promo during TF(M), BTW and ASIB and it was reflecting on the charts. She had multiple situations where she went into a blackout during an era and as a result singles/albums tumbled down the charts pretty fast.

She is that 'Out of sight, out of mind' kinda artist. However when she has a comeback a lot of people show a huge interest in her. Constant promotion will help that people don't forget about her. Also a lot of people have to warm up to her music which has been shown by the callout scores from her recent radio singles which improved with constant exposure towards the GP. Big events helped with that as well. Hence why MR and Shallow had resurgences on Pop radio after Superbowl and the Oscar's.

She is that kinda artist people want to see actively hence why many times her touring stats looked more impressive than the sales of the associated album.

Chromatica is an album to please the gp who missed her doing dance music. Ga purposely made the album short af to ensure people stream it and she made the decision to include generic dance breaks just to to appease people who like dance music:ladyhaha:

If you’re a fan who does not care about ga pleasing fans then wtf are u doing on the charts discussion :ladyhaha:

You’re full of ****:billie:

Chromatica is up to 734 million streams as of two days ago. If she continues to average 5 million streams a day she’ll hit 1.5 billion by the end of the year and it’ll become her second most streamed album after ASIB :legend:

Exactly. Her “acceptance” within the streaming world is entirely carried by one song, whereas every other main pop girl never had the same stigma and have dozens of songs (and features) that are streaming hits. Gaga is playing catch up. But within such a short timeframe she has become an equal to all the other long-established streaming stars. Plus, she has never had a rap feature and we all know streaming is dominated by the hip hop industry.
