It’s stupid and dangerous, but they got the idea to do it from Chicken Pox parties some people have for kids (which was a thing from like the 80s/90s) I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill. I think they key was keeping lockdown measures in place until the case numbers were on the consistent decline. We shouldn't be too cocky though, this virus is still out there throughout Canada... A lot of people still have the virus or are passing away, and it's still going around, I mean look at Toronto. Albeit it's not as bad as it was in April or May Where I live we're going in Phase 3 allegedly in the coming weeks. Idk how I feel about that though because I'm an hour away from Toronto. I just hope other Canadians are remaining vigilant and smart. We can't just rush back to normal though I understand reopening the economy, I mean I was teetering on poverty at the beginning of the pandemic when I lost my job and I'm still trying to find a new job as I am moving in September, but I'm thankful and fortunate that things aren't as bad here as some other places that never took this seriously at all.. But they're mandatory on our buses now and most business starting later this month we got the serve there (they should have enforced it right away though) In my city id say about 60% of people are wearing them so I don't get weird stares Also as someone that has to wear a high grade mask with filters 8 hours a day at work in the heat (my job has a lot of heavy metal dust so it's not optional) and goes thru that discomfort I get so triggered with people complaining about wearing a cloth one for half an hour when they go out I'm like bish, if I can wear a heavy duty mask for 8 hours a day u can wear a cloth one for 30 minutes. OBEY 57,109 Posted July 5, 2020 Share Posted July 5, 2020 @Economy I don't know for you but as soon as the virus hit, here in Quebec, the government really took a 'we're all in this together' approach and speeches to make us realize that EVERYONE needs to do their part to succeed. it's kind of weird that in a way it brought us all closer together while not being together? anyway I think recognizing the problem, that is it a big threat and then being consistent and telling people what to do to fix it really helped. Tons of quebecers and probably most Canadians were like "I'm not at risk, but I love my mother, my grandfather, and i even love people I dont know and I dont want to contaminate them so imma be careful and try to stay inside".
