The only thing that needs to be canceled is cancel culture itself.

I'm not getting any sleep tonight because I woke up to a beautiful life. I'm awake.

I love Jenna and her dogs and her bf and her energy. I'll miss her she's the only YouTuber I've cared about throughout the years. One of the OG YouTubers. :( Come back soon...

I'm sorry... but to those complaining about "cancel culture"... who was even out here trying to cancel Jenna Marbles?!

Like I literally saw nothing about this. Idk. I'm not saying she's lying about the reason she's leaving YT, but I think she could've chosen to ignore the hate or just simply apologize for her very minimal transgressions.

The biggest overreaction in this whole situation seems to be on HER part.

im literally shattered i cant stop crying, i consider her family even though she has only communicated kinda with me la couple times but she has been the best medicine for my mental health and self esteem for 9 years. I HAVE A TATTOO OF HER DOG FFS

it aches to see her in so much pain. i feel like throwing away socializing and the internet and just hermit myself silly again.

i consider her dog the emodiment of my soul and her and julien make me feel better because they act very similar to how i do, (except they are motivated and productive [lol])

screw the world honestly. screwwwwwwwwwww it.

I think what I'm coming to realize is that I can attempt to make my thoughts and feelings as clear as possible when I express myself online, but ultimately if the reader is just waiting to press the "CANCELLED" button like you are... there really isn't any point.

I don’t believe people are unproblematic because they don’t make mistakes. I think you are unproblematic when you can acknowledge and grow from a mistake. This is the same woman who made a 40 minute apology video over a fish tank.

I am all for for holding racists and bigots accountable, but we need to allow people to learn. I know so many activists from my youth that participate in cancel culture who used to make fun of me for being Native Hawaiian, they sexualized my middle school age brother, etc. Why can we allow ourselves to change but not others?

Wow, I don't even recognize her anymore that's wild.  She really was getting huge when I was late in high school and I used to get such a kick out of her and her dogs.  I'm so sad to see her like this and I hope she's able to find happiness and maybe come back to making videos again in the future.

That being said, she's an adult that's making actions of her own accord based on how her content has made people feel; full stop. Y'all are always doing the most.

Cancel Culture does not exist.  If cancel culture really existed in the way you acted like it does Chris Brown, Shane Dawson, Jeffree Star, RuPaul, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallen, Tyler Oakely, Franchesca Ramsey, Tina Fey, Gaga, Nicki, 69whatever, Donald Trump, etc, etc, and all the other people you whine about would no longer have careers but they clearly still do.  Hell Jenna Marbles has been "canceled" before and yet here we are.  You act like people get called out for their minor transgressions and their lives get ruined, so where has that actually happened?  You just don't like it when there is even a hint of consequences when someone you like has blow-back for their actions.  Clearly mobs go after people, fairly or not and it can get pretty toxic but this whole complaint has been annoying for years.  Usually people either ignore the furor entirely or make some sort of a halfassed apology, get absolved by fans who weren't effected in the first place and then things blow over.

I saw someone on the comments saying that she said she was feeling "lost" on Youtube (I don't really remember the comment but it was something like this). She's probably a bit burned out after all these years. After seeing people talk about those old videos she probably started re-evaluating her content. I really hope she doesn't leave completely.

Cancel culture does not usually affect people that are popular in part due to controversy, or started off being controversial.

Natalia Kills was 100% cancelled.

I love her videos, Land Shark is my fav. I wonder why she chose to do this rather than lift up voices, or at least further promote the message of BLM / anti-racism.
Something about this misses the mark. She is an amazing Youtuber, I always found her funny although I don’t remember seeing some of the videos here (I think I saw the Nicki one when I was a kid). That was a really long apology. She has a massive platform, she should have offered less of an apology and more of how she will make a difference and be responsible going forward.

Because that's promoting when the video is about retracting. If people are looking to cancel her, they'll try to find it within whatever she says now. SJW will tear apart any statement she makes and try to make her looks like the bad guy. So by leaving it at an apology she isn't giving them a chance to do that.

OT: I feel bad for her. I never thought her content was malicious at the time. There might be some questionable jokes or plots, but those were more in tune with the comedy seen on mainstream tv. That doesn't mean it doesn't offend anybody, but I'm not sure it's fair to blame her altogether. I don't see anything offensive the last few years, the woman literally made a dog bed out of soap. I do believe this is just the last bit for her though, she just hasn't seemed passionate the last few years and feeling unsure about her entertainment value just didn't help.

I am so tired of seeing the internet holding insensitive jokes people made 10 years ago against them and when they address and own up to it (even though they did in the past) it’s “not enough”... and in most cases it’s almost always people not included in the group that would most likely be offended by it who say that.
