Guest
Why didnt Gaga release A-YO as a third single considering how insanely well Million Reasons did? I remember how the general public fell in love with A-YO performance on SNL. I think it could have done well if she released it after Million Reasons. River 116,399
Joanne had a very small budget so I guess everything was spent on John Wayne video and then it was just the tour So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
Illuminati 15,921
It was supposed to be the single before Million Reasons, with the latter becoming a single after the Superbowl, but the Carpool Karaoke gave it such a huge push that Interscope scrapped A-YO (Like Venus vs DWUW). I think it would have done well, it was clearly her favorite song as well.
AVeryGagaHolyDick 25,237
Too late probably. After the Super Bowl she focused on Million Reasons and then she had to shoot ASIB and releasd The Cure to (possibly) see how her streaming game could recover
elijahfan 26,084
I think that after Million Reasons, it became obvious to Gaga and her team that Joanne would mainly connect to the public through its ballads.

I mean, they released both songs for a reason, they knew that the reception would make the choice. That's why when she announced A-YO, she said "new song" and not "new single"

Just A Holy Fool 2,550
It should have been the lead...
AVeryGagaHolyDick 25,237
Also, let's not say that MR did "insanely well" Shallow did, not MR AND yeah, A-YO was praised by the public after the SNL performance but it didn't really show on iTunes

They probably went for PI because they didn't want the fans to be too shocked by the difference between ARTPOP and Joanne... but they could have released MR, we've heard ballads since The Fame
Dramatica 13,690
It is still my absolute FAVORITE song on Joanne, I think it was supposed to be a single, but for some reason she went with Jowanne I didn't ask for a free ride, I only asked you to show me a real good time. It's not from the album, was released a year and a half later and it wasn't sent to radios... it's called a "single" on iTunes because it's a standalone track. Joanne was a single in Italy though
