You just sit around here talking about it You're takin' morphine (repeat with splashes of general MJ noises) I played this filtered acapella at 0.25 speed and I still can't make out or be sure about the bolded parts I'm also not sure about the "trust every lick, baby" bit but it's a song about drug abuse so it makes sense to liken drugs to candy, right? Lots of interesting resentment and anger in this song too. He got the flack, baby Kicked in the back, baby A heart attack, baby I ain't your father "Flack" is either publicity or criticism. "Kicked in the back" or "stabbed in the back". The media did this man so wrong that he took a swipe at them in a song about drugs like, beyond the obvious drug theme, it almost seems like this song is from the perspective of someone that does more and more for a person but gets nothing but abuse in return. A woman's perspective in an abusive relationship, I guess, is the analogy used here. She trusts him, he betrays her trust, she ends up hurt. She gives him his "hot hit" (if those are the right words), he "dug a ditch" (a grave to put her in?) and tells her she makes him sick and she's unreliable. She believes that under the swine (his ugly exterior) he's good. So, she naively believes this toxic man can be good for her. When he's high on his drugs, or rather when she provides his drugs, he's kind. She's desirable to him when he's messed up. Then he sobers up by the next line, abusing her again. Until she's literally cut by him and maybe changes herself? Becoming less of a kind person herself? A razor blade, baby Right up your leg, baby You're throwing shade, baby So undesirable Then the bridge where he's begging for his fix and reassuring her that it'll be ok. Maybe she got up the confidence to leave him but that resolve faltered 'cause she is weak for him. And as soon as she gives in and he gets what he wants... EW! She got the ****, baby Your dog's a bitch, baby you make me sick, baby You are a liar Is truth a game, baby Deep in the fame, baby You're causin' shame, baby You're ???? ...he's worse than ever The woman keeps martyring herself in the naïve belief that her man can be good. OR!!!!!!! MICHAEL!! Kept martyring HIMSELF!!! Constantly trusting those he shouldn't, buying houses, funding projects, donating millions, and for what?
