I do wish it contained some of the elements from the demo, but overall it isn't as bad of a song as people make it out to be. To be honest, the only reason why many people hate it is because we heard the demo first. Had we not heard it at all, I feel like a lot of people would enjoy the song. However, I still ended up choosing Bloody Mary because I think it's truly a work of art. That said, I do think FW has a lot more "replay" value. It's much more of a chill song that I could just put on the background of whatever I'm doing. Bloody Mary is the type of song—for me anyways—that I listen to a couple of times here and there to appreciate just how well crafted of a song it is. I suppose most of the people who hate Free Woman are the ones who listened to the demo before, they fell in love with that version and were disappointed when it was a different version on the album. This is why people shouldn't listen to demos and stuff like this, imo the same happened with ARTPOP when the studio versions were different from the iTunes festival versions. That makes complete sense. I never listened to the leak, but I’ve gone back recently and listened to the demo, and to be honest I think the album version is far superior, same with Rain On Me! I think what happens is you hear one version and fall in love with it, then the final version just sounds different from what you’ve grown accustomed to.
