He's got too much bad karma and someone as widely hated as him will never have a lot of broad appeal. I honestly don't think this will be a #1 that people will remember in the future either, which is what matters way more than chart position. As for Nicki, the backlash will hit her eventually. Shame that someone who once had the beginnings of such a promising legacy will now have her first proper #1 (not a feature) be with an abuser.
