It is different than western pop groups because the band members are carefully selected based on things like personality charts, how well their personality types gel together and what personality types are attractive to the general public. The creation of a kpop group is very calculated, and then they’re put through YEARS of insane training until they are “perfect” enough to  debut. they are scientifically more likely to be popular based on all the things considered during the “casting” process.

isn't this a common practice in music business though? when a pop group is being put together

like look at Destiny's Child, every member of that group went through rigorous training from early childhood. Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera - basically every child star turned singer have gone through the same process as these K-Pop idols are going through.

my point is, again, it's not really different whether it's Asian or Caucasian - every pop music product is well-calculated and polished to get the maximum appeal.

about that they're just like 1D or 5H, I would like to disagree :poot: 1D and 5H are so much more bland than kpop, from their music production, videos, and especially their performances. Little Mix is more comparable to kpop groups. of course this is just my biased opinion but I stand by it :ally:

ikr. even if its funded by the government, it's kind of fair because look at how small their currency is.

There is a big difference on how 100,000 USD can make between both genres.

I love them because the music is pure highly produced pop with catchy hooks, can't complain. And the image is so perfected and polished, same reason people like iPhones, underneath the case there's nothing great about them, but the execution is slick and polished.

I'm an Asian and I don't know either. What's the point of singing a song you don't even understand. I don't get it.

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

People from all over the world that don't understand English enjoy English music, why does language have to be a barrier :rip: Plus nearly all kpop videos & shows nowadays have subtitles, so it's not like you're going to have a hard time understanding the lyrics either.

Who exactly listens to English songs who don't understand English :laughga: I guess it works for other people but not me, (there are exceptions of course).

Taylor hit 1 Million first week album sales in China with Lover, and I doubt all of them understand English :rip: How else do you think popstars like Gaga are able to sell out arenas and stadiums worldwide. But if you can't it's fine too, I'm not trying to force you :poot:

It just seems to be that way because of the manipulation of western media through bots influencing the impressionable youth by the CCP.

I'm more into Jpop, I dunno, to each their own?

Thank u! I find Jpop more unique and more exciting. It is a personal preference not about european or american.

For example, in the middle-east biggest music artists are Egyptians due to the fact culturally they have a long history of Music

Please educate me about it, if I think about Eastern Asia I would assume Jpop would be the biggest hit not Kpop
