I HATE Nas as an artist. :messga: From what I’ve heard his music is awful, I HATED Old Town Road so much and Panini. Super cringe, that song was only big because of those memes. And this whole situation with Nicki also made me 100% uninterested in even giving him a chance.

I don’t like 6ix9ine either, but at least I can tolerate his 3 songs with Nicki... :cryga:

Ok let’s go!!!!

People don’t want to see a gay black artist succeed but will go lengths to defend a criminal and pedophile who says the N word so proudly despite not even being black. Make it make sense :awkney:

not that i actually like the guy but he clearly was mislead in knowing the age of the girl, let's save the pedo word for people that are actually purposeful pedophiles

He’s still a criminal. He has a monitor on his ankle. Do better.

Right? You SHOULD assume that, that the bar is already low as it could possibly be. But no, it literally gets lower and lower. :triggered:

But oh well... :awkney:

No one’s defending 6ix9ine, they’re both awful. This has nothing to do with Nas being gay nor black. But now that the one-hit-wonder’s career is tanking he wants help from the same woman he stanned for years and then suddenly switched on her to hide his sexuality. But make it make sense! :awkney:

He does not need her help. He was just nominated for AOTY for a damn EP.

It probably had more to do with what his label wanted anyways, and his own fears of homophobia. Being a celebrity is still his work, and the genres he works in are both known as homophobic. Are we really gonna judge him for that? Also, what are you measuring his success on if he hasn't released anything in a while, and the material he did release did well?

I hope nicki ignores him just like he ignored her when it was convenient for him.

Hes the only one who doesnt  want to see a black gay artist succeed because he pretended to be straight while he was gaining success :billie:

I agree with you for the most part, but he came out of the closet about a year ago after his EP came out I believe, so I don't see why he didn't address the Nicki stan account until now (which was apparently alluding to his sexuality). I understand the idea of being in a homophobic music genre though. To me, it just seems extremely disloyal to have followed someone's career for so long, and then now that you're trying to launch a music career you basically abandoned the same woman you looked up to. Not only that but he continued to deny being a fan of hers in interviews, etc., which I found very shady. I'm sure there's more to the story though.

I was measuring his success on the Old Town Road Remix, which I believe only went viral due to memes/TikTok posts/etc. It holds the record for the longest-running #1 in the U.S. He had 2 other singles after that, with only 1 other charting at #5 and then falling off shortly after.

Maybe he just didn't feel the need to address every part of his past, which I get. But I also get why people find it weird to distance himself until it's convenient. And publicly distancing doesn't mean he wasn't supporting her in private.

Shallow I believe only had the success it had because of memes. Yes Gaga is an established artist but I think Tik Tok and such had a pretty big influence on its success. The fact that his song was able to hold #1 so long should say something about his success though, and he did pretty well for a 8 song EP as well as numerous performances. He continues to create buzz on social media as well, as his followers interact pretty heavily with his tweets.
