What did you expect from Chromatica?

I was expecting more songs like rain on me (huge pop melodies with disco/house influence). I also thought there would be a storyline tied into the era either visually or lyrically. Maybe she still will with promo later but i feel that’s something that’s lacking and would make the era great

Radio friendly ARTPOP, to be honest. Lots of Applause, DWUW, a few Venus and SD. But honestly I’m really happy I was wrong because this kind of music shows a great evolution from ARTPOP

I thought it was going to be more disco like “I want your love”. Other than that, it has really met my expectations for lyrics, sounds and overall vibe and aesthetics

It's weird because it's what I expected and didn't expect at the same time. I knew she was going to come back with a big era and be on top again and I always envisioned her making music like this.

I think I had a slight worry there that the album was going to be full of songs like WDYDT and Sophie productions.

The album is sonically safer and more commercial than I expected.  More than half of the album could easily be played on BBC Radio 2, for instance.

I was expecting something more experimental and revolutionary, with a 90s touch. Instead, we got a safer album sound wise and more commercial than expected.
