Some celebrities may receive some really twisted letters off of (crazy) fans. While that can happen to anyone, it's more frequent for celebrities to receive weird stuff off of obsessed stalker fans. She’d even encourage it. In interviews and on social media, she used to show off all the letters and fan art that people sent to her — often at her parent’s address. If you handed something to her security or management, she WOULD get it. She loved and appreciated it so much. This was one of the many ways we grew to love and stan for her. Since Gaga started suffering from fame and illness, her hands-on touch with fans has slowly diminished. I believe now there are several layers of filtering before anything gets into Gaga’s hands. Would you like it if you got millions of letters from strangers, even if they're well meaning? Would you have time to finish reading the first thousand without getting emotionally exhausted? Try to step outside yourself and imagine being in her position. If you love and support her, buy and stream her music, buy her merchandise, and buy tickets to see her shows when it is safe to tour again. Check out the Born This Way Foundation and find ways to support their cause. Actions speak louder than words sometimes, and it is a way we can support her without invading her privacy.
