Ava has some catchy songs but it seems kind of like a cheap Gaga cosplay. Billie.. I don't get the hype. Halsey seems pretty basic as well. The Fame or The Fame Monster, Teenage Dream, Dangerous Woman... these are all solid, timeless, pop classic records which really cemented Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Ariana Grande on the map. Most people were hyping Dua up to be the next big thing... and she didn't bring it. Don't Start Now is a solid hit. But thats the only one she has, along with New Rules from her previous era, and One Kiss where she was featured on Calvin Harris's song. It takes more than just a couple hits to make a 'main pop girl'. Future Nostalgia was trying to go somewhere, but it didn't take off. Most of it sounds the same, and it just became boring. Also, it didn't sell that well and people lowkey forgot about it really soon after. There was like 4 standout songs, if that, on an eleven track album... not great. As for the rest of the people mentioned - Billie Eilish I don't consider being 'pop'. She might be popular, but her brand is very much in the alternative route. Also, everytime she is seen in public, its the same green and black outfit with the green and black hair. She needs to change it up and give us diversity, as well as showing that she doesn't look bored all the time. But yeah, I don't think she is pop but more alternative or indie instead. Halsey is definitely more alternative than pop, and she's already pretty big. Ava isn't even taken seriously yet she's like Dua but even further back. Camila is already on her way there. She delivered two solid pop albums and has proven more than just the 'Havana' girl. She may be a bit eccentric, but she is young. If she continues her craft and what she stands for, she will be the next trendsetter like Gaga was.
