LGMonster95 13,704
Just stop with the stupid comparisons, they are both VERY different albums, It's very stupid to compare them in any way pretty much. Gaga does a lot of genres and not all of her fans would be into all of them but that doesn't mean the songs are not good or great just because its not your type, for example a song like Sinners Prayer is not really my type of song which is the reason why its my least favorite song from Joanne, BUT I actually acknowledge that its a quality song because its serves some pretty strong lyrics and story overall. So no if some songs/album is not really your type that doesn't mean the album is bad.
chosensparkles 8
Joanne is a masterpiece, truly her album that ages the best and will age the best from her catalogue. Chromatica is BOMB but it's so different. I love it anyway Both miles better than ARTPOP

Daylight Jokers 14,958
Interviewer: Does that kind of comparison offend you? Chromatica: Offend me? No. Irks me? Yeah. First of all, I'm a dance pop album, I'm from Chromatica. Uh.... what are the similarities? Why don't I turn the cameras around and ask you? Interviewer: Just the good lyrics and the... Chromatica: Good lyrics? Every Gaga album in this game has good lyrics. Interviewer: The belty vocals? Chromatica: The belty vocals? Ehh, try again. Interviewer: So it does! It does make you mad. Chromatica: I mean, no. It's getting tired now tho to me. In the beginning I was like, 'Okay, it's cool, haha. When they get to know me, they'll understand me'. Joanne is a fantastic album. Like, you know, she's paved her way and she's opened her own lane, but I feel like I have my own lane. And we never cross. EVER.

Keeo 438
ASIB gave me a new appreciation for Joanne. I'm so glad that I can listen to it after Chromatica and be happy that it's not the same thing and that it sounds nothing alike. It's refreshing. She is so talented and multifaceted, and I'm really here for it. I didn't love Joanne as much when it was released, but it's an important part of her discography and I'm happy with it today. If you even look at the reviews, the writers all try to compare Joanne to its previous work. Previous work doesn't directly influence the quality of a different project. They also talk about it not being cohesive, but that also doesn't decide the quality of an album.
Bradley 59,064
Gheys preferring Chromatica over Joanne which was received more favourably by older and casual markets? If anything it's evidence of Gaga's versatility.

They're both great and Joanne has brought Gaga back to the Grammy scene when ARTPOP failed to get any nominations. Not even in pop categories. Joanne also revitalised her career, and many people made statements like "I didn't really like her but I kinda do now." Mostly more conservative consumers say that but it still proves its value that is not found in dance music. She's revered for her versatility through projects like Cheek to Cheek and Joanne. Joanne is a pretty solid piece of work with some very high highs like Perfect Illusion, Diamond Heart, Joanne (the song), Just Another Day (she wrote that song ALL by herself btw) Let's not try with the Joanne shade just because some of y'all don't appreciate Anericana-folk-country-rock music This. Frankly, I think it would have a higher metacritic score too if it had been put out by a different artist. So many critics were going "it's inauthentic because Gaga is x, y, and z." It sounds stan like, but a lot weren't just objectively judging the music.
