Why do Xtina stans think this?

Bionic could have been a masterpiece and it has very interesting material, like Birds of Prey, Elastic Love, Glam,... songs that could be released today and they would sound actual and good as new.

Then you have dramatic stuff that doesn't fit at all, slow songs, tacky songs, boring songs with excessive old, totally expected, over-exploited tricks she's used since the beginning of her career, and an aesthetic that is amazing on the booklet, but poorly executed from the first minute of the Not Myself Tonight video. 

That title is the perfect conclusion for the album; resuming everything, she wasn't herself or any new fully formed alter, they didn't know what they were doing and a concept that could have been a huge success turned out bad because they didn't know how to develop it artistically and stay true to it. 

The deluxe album is simply indigestible and can give you a headache.

Perez also tried to smear the ARTPOP era, and Gaga still managed to snatch a #1 album with 2,5 million copies sold, so..... At the end of the day, if the music’s good, all the smear campaigns in the world can only do so much.

I feel like expectations were disproportionately high for Bionic, with collaborators like M.I.A and Goldfrapp being involved, and the iamamiwhoami videos being rumored to be linked to the project. Even I, who isn’t a Christina stan, was excited for the record - and then it dropped, and it was what it was....  People can blame whoever they want for its failure, but at the end of the day, the music didn’t live up to the hype and that was the main issue.
