Unpopular Opinions on "Chromatica"?

Bloody hooker

The final version of Free Woman is awful.

Sour Candy is the best song on the album followed by Alice.

This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.

Babylon (HL Version) > Babylon (Album Version)

Now stay mad :vegas:

Girl, I really don't wanna fight with you because you know I love you, but we haven't even heard what the HL version really sounds like

BloodPop said that they will release it; I don't think people can really make fair comparisons. Wait until they release the HL version and then we can compare the two.

The HL beat is everything.

I know it doesn't fit the album concept at all, it was what I most expected from the album, then a completely different version came and i was annoyed (still love it though)

I stand by what i said :vegas:

I mean, I agree that the HL instrumentals sound very good. But even then, for all we know it could still be very diferent than what we envision.

The leaked demo doesn't really sound a whole lot like the HL instrumentals. It sounds more like a Bowie x Madonna mashup with the HL beat in the background. I wouldn't necessarily complain about that since I love Bowie and Madonna, but I still have a feeling that when they release the "HL" verison, it still won't really be exactly what people are expecting. Even back when it leaked, I remember people complaining that it was "too different" from the HL version.

Personally, while I do think that the HL beat fits more with the aesthetic and sound of the album, I think that the current album version is a great closer.

HUGE LIST INCOMING

(arrest me GGD, I don't give a f*ck, this is about UNPOPULAR opinions, I'm not here to post something you agree with:vegas:)

- Chromatica is my least favorite Gaga album (for now) (but I still love Gaga more than any other artist)

- People praise it because it's cohesive, but I think overall most of the songs sound about the same and I don't like it

- Stupid Love was the best choice for the lead single (if ROM was single #2 of course)

- Stupid Love reminds me of Highway To Hell (don't ask me why lmaoooo)

- The two only songs that are single-material were already released as singles

- Stupid Love sounds awful between Alice and Rain On Me (not that it's bad but it just doesn't work.) It would be better if Stupid Love was before Alice, and if ROM was right after Alice.

- Replay is the only song that isn't generic

- I'm certain that I've heard the exact melody of the ROM outro (thunder coming down) in at least 5 songs from 2014-2016, when I first heard it I prayed it wouldn't be the melody I expected, but it actually was

- Too much reverberation on her voice in almost every song

- Stupid Love was destroyed by its final mixing / mastering. The leaked demo is 100x better and it's the only version I listen to

- The vocals in Replay are INCREDIBLE

- Elton John and Gaga don't sound good together

- The production in some songs sounds like a remix posted by an amateur person on YouTube (especially Free Woman)

- Alice, Stupid Love, Rain On Me and Replay are the best produced songs by far

- I LOVE the interludes and I consider them to be as important as the songs, especially since it's the first time Gaga writes pieces like these with no vocals

I want to make a video about fans opinions about the album.

So, what are your unpopular opinions on Chromatica?

It being her darkest, up-close, personal and album, I think she's trying to signal us little monsters that the only thing that keeps her going as "Lady Gaga" is her fans, despite Stefani's constant battle to overtake her whole soul.

We should be really grateful to have someone we look up to sacrifice for us that much.

I dont like how she sings on Enigma (yeah she is awsome but Im not into it)

Also the Replay verses are everything ❤❤ but on the chorus she sings again this way and its so meh. I even prefer her doing growls rather than that tryhard voice style

agree. she also sounds this same unpleaseant ultra nasal tone in sine from above, 1000 doves, rain on me. basically half the album.

I really really dislike this style of technique/intonation she likes to use in everything since 2018, makes her sound like a mix impression of Judy Garland, Cher and Pavarotti, all at the same time.

the only song of this albums that she truly sounds like herself is Love me Right, her tone sounds MUCH more relaxed, feminine and youthful.

Rain On Me is the best produced song and the strongest on the album. Thank god they released it before the album came out.

/Opinion

Sour Candy is also one of the stronger songs for having Blackpink on it too. 911 is just really catchy but I don’t think the beat is the best.

Listening to Rain On Me it just sounds like they took a little more effort producing it. the beat is just so well produced and euphoric? It really stands out from the rest of the album. while most of the album has repetitive beats and a similar sound throughout, Rain On Me sounds like it has more layers, it has more beats going on that stands out.

Plus the fact Ariana Grande is on it is just the cherry on top. She really fits the song so much it can actually pass as an Ariana Grande solo too.
