You said Trump wins again ignoring other studies that says Trump was wrong and lost. Trump said it works along with drinking/injecting disinfectants.

WHO rejected the study cause the data they used seems to be faulty NOT because it worked or didn't work.

How about Oxford released recently study. Guess Trump lost again :)

Hydroxychloroquine Shows No Covid-19 Benefit in U.K. Study

A U.K. study of hydroxychloroquine for treatment of Covid-19 was halted after an early analysis found no benefit, the biggest blow yet for the therapy touted by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Trump won with this.Trump lost with other things. It's simple as that.

I dont know why you are so angry and accuse people of imaginary things and then move the subject with another article that talks about something else.

NYT was not a good source? The studies werent retracted? What is out of context about the articles? Why you made such a false accusation that I posted out of context content, when it wasn't the case?

Stop doing stuff like this. Post your opinions and the additional information without making false accusations and maybe then we can have some decent conversation. Have a nice day.

The context is many more studies support  the conclusion that hydroxychloroquine does no good and in fact can hurt. It's that simple. To cherry pick two possible faulty studies based on bad data while completing ignoring the others is out of context. In addition, the 2 studies you hang your hat on did NOT say hydroxychloroquine worked. In fact, show us all the studies that back up your claim if you can :) No one supports your conclusion and proves Trump wrong. Don't feel bad, Trump's been wrong many times.   Thanks Trump!

Gargling with bleach? Americans misusing disinfectants to prevent coronavirus, survey finds

(Reuters) - More than a third of Americans misused cleaners and disinfectants to try to prevent infection by the coronavirus, according to a survey taken shortly after President Donald Trump publicly asked whether injecting such products could treat COVID-19.

Washing food with bleach, using household cleaning or disinfectant products on bare skin, and intentionally inhaling or ingesting these products were some of the most commonly reported “high-risk” practices in a May 4 online survey of 502 U.S. adults, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported.

The survey’s lead author said it was undertaken following a “sharp increase” in calls to poison control centers for exposure to cleaners and disinfectants during the pandemic.

Some 39% of people surveyed reported intentionally engaging in at least one high-risk practice not recommended by the CDC to prevent coronavirus infection, including using bleach to clean food or misting the body with a disinfectant spray. Four percent drank or gargled with diluted bleach solutions, soapy water or disinfectants.

A quarter of those surveyed reported having at least one adverse health effect during the previous month that they believed resulted from using these products.

This isn't about Republican or Democrat this is about taking a drug and promoting a drug without enough research on it's effectiveness or lack there of on Covid-19

The only thing we know with absolute certainty are the drug's side effects.

UNDER STUDY FOR COVID-19

Hydroxychloroquine and a related drug, chloroquine, are currently under study as possible treatments for COVID-19. This is the illness caused by the new coronavirus. These drugs have not yet been approved by the FDA for this use. Do not use these medications to treat COVID-19 unless your doctor recommends that you do so.

Highlights for hydroxychloroquine

Hydroxychloroquine oral tablet is available as a brand-name drug and a generic drug. Brand name: Plaquenil.

Hydroxychloroquine comes only as a tablet you take by mouth.

Hydroxychloroquine is used to treat malaria, lupus erythematosus, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Important warnings

Child danger warning: Accidentally swallowing just a few tablets has been fatal in some children. Keep this drug in a child-resistant bottle out of reach of children.

Worsened skin conditions warning: Tell your doctor if you have skin conditions, such as psoriasis or porphyria. This medication may make these conditions worse.

Eye damage: This medication can damage your eyes, leading to vision problems that can be permanent. This damage is more likely when the drug is used in high doses.

Heart damage: This medication can cause heart disease. Although uncommon, some cases have been fatal.

What is hydroxychloroquine?

Hydroxychloroquine is a prescription drug. It comes as an oral tablet.

Hydroxychloroquine is available as the brand-name drug Plaquenil. It’s also available in a generic version. Generic drugs usually cost less than the brand-name version. In some cases, they may not be available in every strength or form as the brand-name drug.

Hydroxychloroquine may be used as part of a combination therapy. That means you may need to take it with other drugs.

Why it’s used

Hydroxychloroquine is used to treat lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis. It’s also used to prevent and treat malaria.

How it works

Hydroxychloroquine is an antimalarial drug. It treats malaria by killing the parasites that cause the disease.

It isn’t fully understood how this drug works to treat lupus erythematosus or rheumatoid arthritis. However, it’s believed that this drug affects how your immune system works, which may be a benefit in lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.

Hydroxychloroquine side effects

Hydroxychloroquine oral tablet doesn’t cause drowsiness, but it can cause other side effects.

More common side effects

The more common side effects that can occur with hydroxychloroquine include:

headache

dizziness

diarrhea

stomach cramps

vomiting

Mild side effects may go away within a few days or a couple of weeks. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if they’re more severe or don’t go away.

Serious side effects

Call your doctor right away if you have serious side effects. Call 911 if your symptoms feel life threatening or if you think you’re having a medical emergency. Serious side effects and their symptoms can include the following:

blurred vision or other vision changes, which may be permanent in some cases

heart disease, including heart failure and issues with your heart rhythm; some cases have been fatal

ringing in your ears or hearing loss

angioedema (rapid swelling of your skin)

This isn't a win.

Oh and by the way the APIs are from China.

Doesn't he own a stake in the company that produces this drug? It feels like it was 30 years ago but I swear that came out when he started pushing it

I don't know but his stake was supposibly really small (I forget how much exactly but low enough many average people could invest that much in it)

Seems weird he'd mention it to boost a stock that makes like no difference to him

It seems more likely to me that he was more aware of the drug because of his small stake and in his stupidity for some reason made assumptions about it

Man, do you understand that you accused me of posting out of context articles?  :saladga:

What is out of context about the studies being retracted? If NYT considers that this was news worthy, why do you come after me for posting the same thing here?

You dont agree with my opinion? Fine, but say that, not other stupid things.

Now post another article about whatever you want.

No. He won because the media used those fake studies to go after him. Now he can go after the media who did that.

Its simple as that. You dont agree with my opinion? Share yours. There is room for all opinions. You dont have to be a bully or a spammer.

Yea. I love them like any normal person loves spam.

No, just the latest studies and the media reported INSTANTLY  the studies were retracted. Trump doesn't need a reason to go after the media. He just makes up any reason he wishes.
