Daily reminder that Stupid Love was a great lead single and a huge casualty of the external factors that plagued this era. SL generated enormous buzz (incredible amount of positive YT reactions + critical reviews) and was having an amazing run on Radio even after promo was scaled back. That it received so much support the week of ROM's release, the week of Chromatica's release (RE: Hot 100 at #42), and is continuing to see high #s on Spotify are hints at the type of success it would've had under the original plan.

People are crazy to think there is another song on this album that would've had as much widespread appeal and would've been able to receive such favorable Radio play weeks after release. They're also crazy if they think a collab would've been the best way to reintroduce a legendary brand like Gaga to mainstream pop music.

Rain On Me would've been promo'd the last week of March, released April 3rd, with Chromatica following on April 10th. Stupid Love was still in the #20-30 range on the Hot 100, so apply the boosts it received in late May and it's likely to have re-entered the Top 10 for at least 2+ weeks and a total run of 12-14 weeks (without promo/perf).

QUESTION: Any predictions on where Stupid Love, Rain On Me, and Chromatica may end up on year-end Charts? And IFPI?

If Nicki had played her cards right and campaigned hard, she could’ve been nominated for a Grammy for the Say So remix but she decided to throw it all away. I wonder if she has a publicist or someone to help her? Or she simply does not care?

Nah; only 1 version of a song can be submitted for Grammy consideration, and Doja Cat has much better chances of nominations for the original than the remix.

Also, I love that she recorded MVs pre-Covid, but girl -- why was Sour Candy not? Knowing how important YT streams would be to its success and potential complications with scheduling, etc., that should've been done right after it made the final tracklist. It isn't a strong enough song or collab in the anglosphere to carry an album beyond 1-2 weeks with no MV, so I expect to see its #s fall. I hope there are no meltdowns if/when. It'd be great if she gets an opportunity to release Free Woman / Babylon MV with some promo / performance (both have a lot of marketing potential; I could see them attached to a product, fashion campaign, etc.).
