That figures esp the SALES is awful tho, who are we kidding??

Hoping for a 60k+ at least.. come on interscope & f*gs we can do it

Honestly, it's bad...but not that bad of a drop...all things considered. Also, no one but hardcore stans/anti-stans & people into charts really care about 2nd week album #s....it's the first week/not dropping out of the top 3 during the second week that counts....and Gaga will probably remain on top of the chart for the second week. All of the mainstream press has been positive about her topping the charts/her opening week #s.

That said, while Gaga always drops...an obvious factor is the lack of promo due to COVID-19/the protests. It's kind of...tacky...for fans to mention it but even some music blogger pointed it out. Interscope should reschedule the streaming party for Thursday imo...enough time has passed/the protests have calmed down that it won't seem inappropriate.

those second weeks prediction sales.... no promo :sis:

She would have been dragged for h*ll though if she had done promo last week or even this weekend...especially considering the massive protests on Saturday. There's been a lot of "read the room" type things, even by blue check journalists, over the most mundane posts by celebrities. I do think it'd be fine if she did something now tho...kind of surprised a last minute listening party hasn't been scheduled to boost her second week #s.

i think the promo will only resume after the "giving my instagram" thing. but i don't really believe the album has much hype to keep it up until. btw i'm so proud of her, and i totally understand about her not promoting, its the right thing to do. but i wish we were in a different scenario. because i think this era will be quick. by now she should had already cancel the tour which she didn't. i'm confuse.

Although I don't think the label would give up after literally less than two weeks of the album release right?.....

I get it. I absolutely believe she made the right decision (both the initial postponement & then barely doing any promo), but it sucks for fans. Can you imagine her putting out a single "at least I'm alive" at the height of COVID-19 in NYC when 100s of people, sometimes thousands, a day were dying? Then I feel sort of guilty being disappointed over music because COVID-19 and the protests are so serious...but it still doesn't change the fact that it's a bummer for fans.

Anyway, I agree there's not enough hype to sustain it...although I'm not sure any music (with the exception of Adele) could maintain the hype. Also, the fact that COVID-19 is now increasing in FL, GA, TX, CA, AZ despite re-opening...I feel like there's going to be a second wave that will destroy any remaining promo plans :(.

At the end of the day though, she had a #5 hit, a #1 hit, and a #1 hit album that sold over 250K it's opening week....still good in this era for a pop girl who has been around for 12 years.
