It’s a good thing you aren’t a democratic presidential nominee or you’d be canceled to hell and back for this slight misstep :billie:

Still not fair. And it's starting to look like a lot of other companies will do something like this. It's frustrating for the people that don't have anything to do with it, as much empathy as we have. Some poeple don't even know what's going on over there and actually, they don't have to. It shouldn't be that hard to do this same thing but only in the US

and there's no editing in face to face speech :messga:

but this is a danger of online chats, you can't rely on your track record as an ally because people can only see the present message. i relied on my previous actions and expected to be interpreted as i thought i would

my bad, i'm really sorry

Better have a free day, that's a win-win, a promo and a statement. Shutting down for a day is unfair for paying costumers, and questionably legal

I understand what they’re trying to do but no matter the situation, most people use music as a way to heal and cope with hard times. I honestly don’t see how this is even doing anything to help the situation. Music has had zero effect on anything that’s happening so I don’t get how taking away Spotify  for a day is going to help at all.

So that is actually a great way to WAKE PEOPLE THE FUKC UP? It‘s so hard for white people to stand and show solidarity with our black brothers and sisters, huh? If you can‘t live a day without Spotify, that‘s a you problem.

Life in general, isn't fair. You know, like George Floyd who was brutally murdered in an act of violence. That wasn't fair for him either and he LOST HIS LIFE OVER IT. But, OK...

A huge ass banner or a donation would be more helpful, but go off I guess :selena:

Oh the sweet sound of white privilege.

What is happening to black folks for so long is not fair. The reality they have to face, not only in the US, is not fair, not okay and not right.

But don’t take away my streaming service for 24h, that‘s inhumane?

I listen to music around 6 hours per day using Spotify. It’s one of my coping methods.
I Do completely stand by Black Lives Matter. But how is 1 day going to make a difference. Racism is happening all of the time. :noparty:

I just hope that the effort actually has an impact this time!

I don't know. My suggestions instead are: 1)Fill the app with banners of BLM 2) Ads for free versions will also be about BLM.  3) The suggested playlists should be statements (broadcasts) about BLM.

Sure. Many of us will understand and praise the act but it's inevitable that many will also be pissed and might divert their anger to the cause of the shutdown which will just cause another conflict.

This sucks for sure but hopefully Amazon Music doesn’t do this too. That’s how I am streaming Chromatica, I have the album on a playlist multiple times and I just leave it on the entire day.

PS: Before yall drag me and “sad”-react me, I’m not saying I don’t care about the issues going on right now. But as a loyal stan I’m doing what I can to help Gaga. :selena:
