All I do know is, violence can’t be the answer.. It's the only way to make the government listen to the people. Black people have had enough of politely asking for respect and dignity. I HATE VIOLENCE too, but sadly this is the government's fault, black people haven't been heard for centuries, just like gay people were terribly mistreated and we had to start a damn riot for things to start change a little. Sadly, asking peacefully seems to take us nowhere, and if this is how things will start to change, then so be it. I'm 100% with the black community and if I lived in the US I'd be protesting and doing whatever it takes for them too, no one deserves to be treated so inhumanly. God Control 2,181
Let’s face it, you can only ask for your rights nicely and peacefully for so long. At some point, people’s patience is gonna run out and it has. Now people don’t care anymore. Peace never brought anyone their rights throughout all of history. People fought and fought and fought till they got what’s rightfully theirs. You can’t expect the people who kill your people to suddenly wake up, have a change of heart and give you your rights on a golden platter, and voting never changed anything either, not when half the country is racist. I’m against violence and I don’t encourage vandalism, but what’s happening to people is a natural escalation of a hundreds of years old injustice that has never stopped, only changed names and faces. Fight for your rights, and if peace doesn’t work, revolt and rebel. F*ck peace if it means accepting being treated like a scum of the earth and choked to death or getting shot point blank. I live in Canada and we have problems of our own but this is clearly a rampant problem in America. If the looting makes you more uncomfortable than the shootings of thousands of innocent black brothers and sisters that's concerning and coming from a place of privilege. Your discomfort with these protests, which are only on day 3, is coming from a place of privilege. This same discomfort is in the hearts of black people 24/7 and 365 days a year. JRCF29 8,230
I don’t know why it’s suddenly become so controversial to criticize the looting and rioting? You can support accountability and justice for George Floyd, support holding bad cops accountable, support thoroughly investigating the murder in Minnesota (including charging the cops that just stood around), and yes you can oppose white supremacy and denounce it as a foolish, anachronistic, and Un-American movement and concept WHILE AT THE SAME TIME being concerned about department stores and small businesses being broken into, vandalized, set on fire, and oppose the destruction of police precincts and police cars in the name of “justice for George Floyd” Being opposed to racism and police brutality doesn’t mean you have to support violent riots, and vice-versa Don't Call Me Gaga
