herassisfamous 1,418
We've all been seeing all these buildings being burnt, chain stores trashed, police cars and trucks demolished and such. What do y'all think about the level the protests elevated to? As a kindness punk I normally don't believe in violence and I don't support it. But in this case, I feel like the reactions are coming from a place of hopelessness. What do you do if the leaders protect a system that keeps the police above the law, even letting someone have the COURAGE to hold down a black person's throat down for 7 MINUTES while he's gasping for air and saying that he can't breathe? Nobody is listening. No solution is coming meanwhile you can get shot while jogging around the neighborhood because of your skin color, or you can be threatened with a call to 911 (an institution that should protect your rights as a citizen as well as of others) just because you warned someone of the illegal activity they're doing. What would you do? You'd start raising your voice. If you are still not heard? Raise your voice more. Still not heard? You'd start fighting. So I, for this case, believe that violence is inevitable and the use of it is not any fault of the ones using it, but it is the fault of the ones who let these voices escalate to the point of violence. This is not because people want to get a haircut. This is because they don't want actual and potential murderers on the loose, while being protected more then themselves. This is what I believe. President Biden 5,898
as a follower of Mother Monster, I cannot support any form of violence. I hope the protestors stay safe and push this movement through peaceful protest. Burning down our cities won’t do anything. My belief is the same of Killer Mike, an Atlanta based rapper & civil rights advocate https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/rapper-killer-mike-pleads-with-atlanta-demonstrators-to-burn-systemic-racism-not-specific-targets/ I got drunk
REALITY 80,184
The sad thing is that there are people who care more about the riots than about the systematic racism of this country. I 100% agree with what you're saying. I am usually not an advocate for violence, but this sh*t has been going on for years and nothing has been done to correct it. Enough is enough. Bayonetta 9,844
Mostly justified, I'm just worried it's gonna enforce racial stereotypes that the black community are violent which probably won't help end police brutality

flyaway 15,350
I'm not from the US, but I know it's still a very racist country and it has white supremacists on the power. That's why the public forces are also like that. It's simply NOT ok. So I find the riots more than justified.
DelusionalGaga 29,717
Fully justified. People are finally raising their voices and fighting for what is right. It is their right as Americans. Yes, it is violent and property is getting destroyed but it is a direct result of the fact that nothing has been done about the issue of police brutality and racisms for years. All of those material things can be restored but nothing can bring people like George Floyd back.
Suuus 5,632
Im against violent protesting and i cant believe so many people here are oke with innocent people's lives being destroyed and yes what happend to George Floyd is terrible but thats not an excuse for destroyingan entire city and with that alot of innocent people's lives

You cannot win with racists and bigots. Yes I understand the frustration but that is a gross simplification of our country: 1. Both conservative and liberal politicians have called for the killers arrest and prosecution. NOBODY is defending him. Even Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, and other Republicans say he should be jailed for LIFE. 2. A small vocal minority hated Kapernick. The vast majority of the country agrees with him. And sorry but as a politically involved person, no, riots don’t make progress. They tear our communities apart. They destroy small businesses. They leave us in ruins. Voting makes progress. Working for campaigns makes progress. Joining advocacy lobbying groups makes progress. I got drunk
Adakam 2
It doesnt matter if theyre right or wrong, what matters is the fact that it is a sign of a society that reached its boiling point, that they wont take **** any more because they are tired, because they were pushed to react this way. People riot because their favorite sports team lost, but these people are rioting because of pain, lots of pain.
