Maybe it's a metaphor for speaking one language again ( = music ) :udidnt: .

Literally a reverse-Babylonian-expedition :tony:

Ew, David!

Everyone hyped Babylon so much based on the leaks and I got super excited. Tbh the final version is kind of a let-down for me too - but I guess in a different way than for you :laughga:

God punished the inhabitants of Babylon and their king Nimrod, or Nemrod, because they were trying to build the Tower of Babel in order to elevate theme self far beyond than God its self. God punished them by making them all speak different languages so they couldn't understand each other. Yes that’s all bye

She made Babylon timeless sure the first version would’ve slapped now but I would’ve grown bored of it I don’t know I think she & her production team out did themselves. Truly a nicely  polished record. Flat 10.

It's a play on words using Babylon themed metaphor. Keep Babbling on. God called Babylon after people speaking all kind of languages within one tower...

Nothing satanic just about people talking **** and that the modern world is the new Babylon...

Not so sure about this interpretation. I get atheist/agnostic vibes from that song (or maybe it's just me). She literally says "battle for your life, Babylon". My interpretation is that Babylon is like Chromatica, a place where people can be anything they want (all kinds of languages/all kinds of colors). We, people that are different, can only survive in a world like Babylon and, to be quite honest, the modern world is becoming like Babylon. But, there are people who don't like it cause they call it disorder and they try to silence us. So we must battle for our life.

My favourite line is "we can party like in B.C.". She sings it like she doesn't care about religion as a spiritual guiding, like religion is just part of human history, nothing more than that. Even in Sine From Above she sings that she and Elton became the stars, like there is no god, you have to trust in yourself and in other humans.

I don't know how the gossip thing would fit on my theory though...

Ok, but how does that fit the song? It doesn't feel like she is on (the christian) God's side... . Feels like she doesn't care, like you can be in Babylon for the weekend, party like in B.C. (before christ), etc.
