Do we think Madonna could have another peak in her career?

as much as I wanted to but no, I believe Madonna isn't relatable to anyone anymore and that's why she haven't had a hit since who knows when

Definitely. I really hope so too. Rebel Heart was a good album musically and Madame X had decent music with a good theme and cohesive, well-executed imagery.

Not with a regular album. Young people don't care about Madonna and haven't in years.

I'd just like her to make a good album without trying to be cool.

Yes she easily could, but her taste in music is horrible now and it doesnt seem like shes willing to change it. The more she releases bad albums, the more the chance of having a peak in her career gets lower.

for the fandom Rebel Heart was a repeak after Hard Candy and MDNA were... underwhelming

but i don't really know if she could commercially, the charts are less open to artists above a certain age

so i think it's up to receptivity and her choice of style the next time around

artistically speaking she most certainly can. I would really love an album with the concept of time and aging. Something about wisdom with a melancholic sound and aesthetic to it etc...something a bit more spiritual but not Ray of Light 2.0 ...a new perspective I guess.

Commercially speaking though it would literally never happen. The public that mostly consums music is over her or just too young to care about her again. The only way she could ever have another hit song is if she was sampled on like a Drake track...i'm not even going to entertain her shifting numbers for a full album. It's over commercially speaking. But that does not matter. As long as she can make another amazing body of work I'd be so happy

I don't think so.

I think she's given up and/or ran out of ideas creatively. She hasn't reinvented herself since 2005, and everything since Confessions as been a slow spiral downward.

So you don’t believe Madame X was a reinvention? You can dislike the album, but that era was a reinvention for sure. Compare it to Rebel Heart, or MDNA isn’t terms of visuals, concept, and vision. I really can’t believe anyone can say she’s run out of ideas when Madame X is right there. The quality of the music is totally subjective, but Madame X came with a whole character, aesthetic, theme. So it bothers me when someone says she’s stuck creatively or hasn’t reinvented herself.

I think Madonna should team with a great film director to write a movie about her life, sort of like Rocket Man was for Elton but 10x better. So people can remember how iconic and important she is. And make her a producer on the movie so she can possibly get an Oscar :enigma:

As long as she doesn't have control over the editing, I'm here for it :emma:

OT: No I don’t think so. It actually amazing how many times she’s repeaked in her career, especially COADF which was like 22 years into her career. But I don’t think she will anymore, commercially speaking.

Madame X was a great album and certainly showed she was still an ambitious artist and visionary, but the sound was definitely not commercial, not even Maluma could have brought that success. And even if she does put out radio friendly music, she still won’t. There’s a certain moment when an artist just won’t have the general audience’s interest anymore. She’s near 40 years into her career, she’s actually had way more longevity than most female pop artists. But I honestly think that ship has sailed, and it’s ok. It happens to everyone.

I have always thought that if she released a collab with Lady Gaga, then she could have a repeak. I mean, imagine them coming together after their history in the industry. That would definitely be big.

In this music climate where pop artists struggle because of hip hop's dominance, I don't think so. Not to mention there's also the ageism.
