Best written & Worst written Gaga song?

Lukey

Featured Posts

We all know Gaga is a great songwriter, but sometimes her lyrics are a little... flat:selena:

So, what is, in your opionion, the best song Gaga has ever written? And the worst? (Talking exclusively about lyrics ofc)

In my opinion,

Best: Marry The Night, Yoü And I and Speechless

Worst: Bad Kids me thinks, but I also don't understand the first verse of Venus:laughga:

no

Princess Zelda

Possibly Governemnt Hooker off the top of my head but tbh I feel like with Gaga it's not so much full songs that have bad lyrics but specific parts of songs that are questionable :smh:

Red Velvet

BEST:

Guess it's just a silly song about you
And how I lost you
And your brown eyes

In your brown eyes, I was feeling low
'Cause the brown eyes, and you never know
Got some brown eyes, but a soft face

WORST:

Why do you look so good in those jeans?
Why'd you come around me with an ass like that?
You're making all my thoughts obscene
This is not, not like me
Why you keep on texting me like that? (Damn)
Got other things I need my mind on, yeah
Other responsibilities
This is not, not like me

I'm like some kind of supernova

Head Empty

I think Paparazzi is very overlooked in terms of songwriting. It's a very complex song in many ways, but perfectly molded into a catchy pop single. The lyrics are deep and can be debated about from many different angles, while still being simple enough that you can sing along with it after hearing it a couple of times. I really don't know any songs similar to it.

To me Diamond Heart is one of the songs that sticks out in terms of rough songwriting... The verses are great in terms of lyrics, but the pre-chorus and the chorus don't verbally flow in my opinion. Especially where she uses "Oh, I" to force a transition between two sentences. Then in the bridge she suddenly emphasizes the word "good" three times for no apparant reason, and transitions into the last chorus without really hitting a satisfying climax. Believe me, I want to like the song because the theme of it is fascinating and the production is stellar, but the details in the songwriting irk me.

Happiness will never last, darkness comes to kick your ass... ‎ ᵃˢˢ 🕺

Wasn't the it girl at school (not me)
No, I wasn't queen of the prom
But don't take me for a fool
Now I know I've got my own charm

I think that’s probably one of her worst verses ever
