I respectfully disagree  I feel like most artists release several songs before the album release. Especially Interscope artists. I think Selena did for Rare, but I know for sure Abel did

Cause Blade said we'd be getting something on the 25th, but specifically said it wasn't a song. This may have been a last minute decision, like he said.

I don't particularly understand why people think another song would be bad though....ROM will for sure be the biggest hit of the era. There's already a lot of attention on it. Why not maximize that even more by releasing a promo single? She doesn't need to promote it as heavily as ROM, and if we this information is true, she probably won't. 

It could be SFA or a "smaller" song on the album that otherwise wouldn't have gotten single treatment. Perhaps a more experimental song that the GP wouldn't cling onto as much as ROM?

If she did I won't listen to it until album release. I want the 29th to be as special as possible. Especially considering we probably wont be able to get any live performances due to corona virus.

I don't think it's a bad idea at all. They wouldn't release something that would clash with ROM. If this is true, they might release a song that's less mainstream and more "avant-garde." That way, ROM still gets the attention (and let's be real...it's going to be the biggest hit of the era) and we could get another song before the album!

Personally, I'd be 100% fine with just waiting that week after ROM, but I'm also not going to refuse hearing another song off Chromatica

Instead of focusing on streaming ROM people would also get attention to another song. Definitely not a great thing when getting #1 is a tight race lately

Like I said, I think if it's a more "experimental" song, I don't think it'd draw away too much attention from ROM. ROM will get the promo. ROM has 2 fan bases that want to get it to #1. ROM will have the big music video. If this is a last minute decision (like Blade suggested it might be), then there's definitely no video and there's definitely not going to be as much promo as ROM. I think it'll be fine.
