How do leaks happen?

This is kind of a dumb question, but how do leaks happen?

Do people hack into interscope?

Do people hack into personal computers?

Inside job?

Are the people who originally leak something ever found out?

i believe in gaga's case it's always been hackers but they can also happen through mistakes or lack of security measures from someone in the team or some third party

i never got the point on leaking some popstar's song but i assume they do so to blackmail the record label like they tried to blackmail the law firm that held her files

Well when you reach a certain age - your body starts to change and things happen

Spoiler

Kidding :trollga:

It can be all the reasons you listed, physicals being printed and sold early or leaked out, mistakes by companies that get info or files early

There could be a multitude of possibilities.

Anything from someone on the inside having access to sensitive files deciding to steal them and leak them, to poor security (using sh*tty passwords, not taking precuations etc), or a virus getting onto the hardware where the data is kept.

Gaga said this album passed by a lot of people, so it was bound to happen imo, not every producer/writer has the best max security so :saladga:

The guy who leaked the Bad Romance demo (+ lots of other stuff) was caught and sentenced to 18 months in jail :rip: So it can be very risky. In that case he hacked into computers I think.

But it can also be people who work on songs sharing them with untrustworthy people, or not having the best security

Gracious Gaga

my mom works for a plumbing company and specializes in pipes and leakage prevention.  leaks happen typically if a pipe is loose.

edit: continuing the story- the Haus of Gaga had a leaky faucet so my mom was sent in to fix it.  While she was there she couldn't help but notice Gaga left her MacBook Air open & logged in.  So my mom took a peak at it, hoping to find Chromatica.  Instead, she found the legal documents, airdropped them to her iPhone and the rest is history.

With Chromatica at least she said theres been so many people working on it or adding their own touches. So if every producer has a version of the album or a track or a recording of what they added and their security ain't it or someone they know comes across it, its easy to leak it.

Did you see the contracts they had to sign? They're all supposed to keep it locked away without any copies being made :air:
