Thank you for the receipts. I remembered most, but not all, of it and knew the Halloween story was fake asf. Even without the receipts, it made zero sense so I don't get why people didn't realize it was fanfic cooked up by crazy stan twitter/tumblr/etc. They have to take a bad thing—Gaga drugged out of her mind & consenting to take a pic with those two morons—and turn it into some insane story.

This. Also, whether it was scat or blackface...it was two people near Gaga and not her doing it. It's bad and sh*tty (pun intended) if it was the latter, but posing in a photo with two racist idiots while drugged out is obviously very different from her doing it herself & the fact that the poster can't differentiate between that situation and Shane's...is yikes.

I personally respectfully disagree. The White Majority may have not “realized” race issues but talking about race has always been an active topic. One that, even today sadly, many have the privilege to ignore because of the system in place is designed to keep minorities to be seen as inferior.

The clip is from 1992 but many more documentaries from Jane Elliot have been shown all over American schools before 2010s.

What I meant wasn't that there was absolutely no discussion on the matter, just what you said, which is that the white majority has not 'realised' race issues. Which basically meant that it largely went unchecked and the culture around such subjects was completely different to how it is now. The majority of people saw these kinds of jokes as 'normal'. At least white people did... and POC didn't really have the power to fight the systems in place back then. My point was just that this kind of behaviour was very common and mostly 'normalised' at the time

Thanks so much. I don't really appreciate the toxitity of you and your catty responses. Gagadaily is not meant to be for being bitchy. I just stated that we shouldn't be bringing up mistakes from years ago for the sake of causing drama.
