She did co-produce both Paparazzi and Brown Eyes, but the point stands. Although I've always loved that she had a hand in production thereafter, with the other producers substantiating that she tends to have a heavy hand in the production.

I'm actually surprised that Gaga has not been listed as producer on anything so far from Chromatica but I'm not mad about it. This really is going to be a great album, I can feel it. Didn't feel the same way about ARTPOP and Joanne even though I love both now.

She may envision the sound of her songs but she's not the one actually turning the cogs, if that makes sense.  Only on a few, such as Venus, and the production on Venus sounded very poor on the verses and chorus.

I mean, yeah, but it's been also said that she is very involved in the actual turning-of-the-cogs production, too, in the past. It's just curious to me that she's completely relinquished that role this time around, after everything her co-production has accomplished, especially with Joanne and ASIB. I'm guessing it's the nature and process of creating the kind of music this time around? I'm assuming she has more experience in "traditional" recording and production, which was heavily evident in her last few, more live instrument-based albums.

As for Venus, my primary issue was less the overall production and arrangement, and moreso the mixing and mastering? I think it sounds good in theory and mostly in execution, but everything is ramped up to 100, when there could be way more spatial balancing and equalizing.

So she finally announced a new single and it will be out on the 22nd, a week before the album drops, and we still have something to complain about? It's not that big a deal, given that she obviously still wrote the songs and came up with the melodies in all of them. Let the woman breathe, my god.

I mean, I'm still excited for the song and for the album and literally everything, but individually, this is a topic that I've been inquiring about for a little bit of time now.

By all means, be excited. I don't mean to take that away from anybody else?
