ARTPOPisaChoice 946
ARTPOPisaChoice's Broke With Expensive Taste Review First off, I almost thought the day would never come to where I could review this album. I thought it would never be released, but finally, 1,151 days after 212's release, it's here. If I had to compare it with another album, I would say that BWET is the Born This Way of rap. There's a lot of genre experimentation, that works in almost every case, except for a couple of song. There's anthemic material, not in self-acceptance vain ala Born This Way, but no less anthemic. Azealia herself has never sounded better vocally and her technical rapping skills have also improved. The production is very fresh, using real instruments as well as normal hip-hop production and some very nice sampling work. For me personally, this is the best album since Born This Way. Azealia Banks has delivered one of the best rap albums of the decade. 92/100 Hands up to the sky 🌧 I’ll be your galaxy 🌌
RAMROD 105,786
I listened to the album, it's so perfect 10/10 Interscope are stupid. IKR! It's so ironic because when first founded, Interscope was supposed to be a Hip Hop/Rap label! Whatever now tbh. Capitol get the hidden gem! CHANTEL 2
AZEALIA BANKS BROKE WITH EXPENSIVE TASTE Official Reviews Thread Eligible For Metacritic It's a shame that she's become more known for her opinions than her rhymes, because at the end of the day, the rapper has a tight grasp on her musical message and delivery. That's why Broke With Expensive Taste  which she surprise-released earlier today  is exactly the project that fans were clamoring for, with Banks at her lyrical sharpest and, musically, her most eclectic so far. SPIN - Positive The only way to digest the record at this stage is to approach each song on a one-by-one basis. ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’ throws up the occasional piece of gold, but it’s submerged in a sea of crazy. Good crazy, though. The kind that could only emerge from someone like Azealia. DIY - Positive Overall Metacritic Score - TBA Not Eligible For Metacritic After Azealia Banks‘ tracklist and cover art for her debut LP Broke With Expensive Taste dropped out of the sky yesterday (November 6), the entertainer pulled a Beyonce and released the album on iTunes. There was a point where we thought this album would never see the light, but its time has now come! IDOLATOR - 4/5 Azealia Banks first announced her debut album would be called “Broke With Expensive Taste†in early 2012. In the time since, Apple have released five different iPhones, Egypt has had four different heads of state, even the world’s most famous bachelor George Clooney got married. But still, Banks and her album were nowhere to be seen. NY POST - 3/
