Yeah, this will be endemic for sure. 

But the good news is we are learning more about it every day and viruses tend to mutate into less lethal strains. An effective treatment for severe cases will probably be developed soon. 

Hopefully we have a vaccine soon, it will probably end up being a seasonal vaccine like the flu.

Everyone, when they say that it will not go away, they are implying that it will be like the seasonal flu and cold. It will be more prominent during a certain time of year, we will all get an annual "shot" for it (like the flu shot), and then we just go on about our days.

As sad and unfortunate as this is, it's not that alarming as long as they do not disrupt the entire global economy on severe levels.

We've dealt with AIDS as a pandemic, and several other novel viruses and while it has taken lives, it's inevitable but at least we can find solace in the fact that the amount of cases will not be as high and widespread as it is right now, and most things can still go on.

can everyone calm the frick down humans have survived deadly diseases for centuries before modern medicine and we were still social beings who gathered together in large groups. 

if humans could so easily be wiped out by socially transmittable diseases we would've evolved into hermit crabs eons ago.
