Pop Music 20,540
honestly I tend to believe her and accept her apology I have been a fan for years and I truly think people grow and change and I do think she is one who actually has unlike some other YT apologies Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever! sethrb101 4,523
I actually believe most of this? And she refuted the notion that he had access to the account for long and that it was actually only a day, which makes me doubt the validity of a lot of what he said. Second, a lot of what he says she did wrong was done retroactively which is BS. During the time it was happening he was more than happy to engage with her. I think this is his parents' manipulation coming through. At the end of the day, she should not have employed him to begin with (which she admits) and they should have cut ties before things got messy like this
Guest
She seems honest and sincere.
Logan 20,740
tl;dr since I know a lot of people don't want to watch 13 minutes: - apologizes for a video she made with her sister 14 years ago dressing up as latinas and enforcing racial stereotypes (video was deleted a few years after it was recorded, but resurfaced due to the recent controversies) - addresses the sending of the undergarments -- it was a gag gift from a live stream she did where she was giving away a bunch of ugly clothes she hadn't worn to fans and a fan tweeted to her that he wanted them - the fan reached out to her commenting that he noticed the Miranda account wasn't active and that he wanted to help out with her account. He only had access to the twitter account for one day, but it was cut short when he tweeted something problematic. She didn't blame him for it though because she admits she should have reviewed the things he was going to post.
NFRatwell 23,290
I’m glad she’s an adult about all this. Lord knows what I would’ve said about that person if I were her
HookerDotGov 542
Eh, I think the lesson here is you can engage with your fans of all ages, but don't "hire" minors for social media branding? Give them encouragement and inspiration, but as a business owner, hire an adult for the serious things. For the most part everything seems to be a misunderstanding or honest mistake. It's just the thought that a teenager can manager a social media account that seems to be the biggest lapse in judgement.
littlepotter 75,147
So proud of her for owning up to every single mistake and not making any excuses or blaming anyone else. Even when he came up with the problematic tweets she took the blame for not looking at it before it was posted. chaeri pls
Gracious Gaga 17,163
Man oh man the problemic things I’ve done and said in the past. And while I can’t take those moments back, you’ll never catch me repeating the same mistakes. we grow and we learn. The past doesn’t define our character. Tomorrow does. ♥ Kindness Police. True, but the thing is that it isn't "serious" at all - the miranda account is a parody that always posts jokes as the character would say them. It's totally like a twitter stan account which many teens run. I think her giving him access to the account would be fine had she double checked and agreed on every post. chaeri pls

Yea, I get that the account is a "parody" but it's also a character that very much is her brand/business. She states in the video she owns a business and all payroll and contracts go through said business. So, it sounds like everything is by-the-book which is why I found the lapse in judgement in letting a teenager run one of your accounts more serious, even if it was just a parody account and a "day-long" trial... In the end nothing seems as serious as initially alleged, I am just pointing out that one detail still rings odd/really misguided on her part.
