This is such a good argumentative essay that I wanna use it as an example for my writing students. Great arguments. I might have responded with one of those excuses about popular music, or an older demographic, but after you clocked that with the counterclaim, I gotta agree with your point :golfclap:

Some good points. The biggest snub of all time since I've watched the show was Taylor beating Kendrick for AOTY.

It's not racist at all though. Or maybe it is, I dunno 🤷🏼‍♂️ But the most GRAMMY-winning artists are black. The top two are I think. Soooooooo, you know....🤷🏼‍♂️

She doesn't deserve all that at all tbh. Then again, she's only competitive in the R&B/urban categories tbh. She's not THAT versatile, so, she doesnt have much competition

I agree the fact that these last 5-6 years Grammy' s do not matter. Its just a basic award show.

Racist? Nope. In recording Academy, the one that deserves generally gets the award. I mean maybe in Oscars there is racism especially in nominations,, but Grammy' s I dont think so. I do not agree

Showing Adele vs Beyonce situation. First of all, yes 25 was mostly a basic album. Sold alot. I agree. It was succesful thanks to 21. Again, was Lemonade really an album that really is on the level of ''exceptionality''? Nope.. Sorry but In USA, cultural wise it was. But, musically it is not. How can you say Sorry is an amazing song? or Formation. After 2010s Beyonce' s team used husbands cheating, BLM, or black culture as a way to make her star, untouchable person. This album was nothing but that. I mean Beyonce is one of the best performer alive. But, she can make anything she touches an success. But, it was all. Lemonade is NOT better than 25. Whole USA, England was adoring Beyonce and cultural references thats all.

It was as avarage as 25 is. Both singers had immense popularity. But they were not on the level of 21..

I'm not a big fan of Beyonce but I have to admit I was impressed by Lemonade. It maybe one of the best pop albums of the decade.

The album had a huge influence on other artists and brought back the visual album. It dabbled in genres such as country and rock music being reclaimed by a black women after a long forgotten history that was being brought to light again. The visual album inspired many directors and artists. It had a huge impact bringing obscure works and African American entertainment to light again. Many universities used the album as an example to bring discussions of race, feminism, black culture, and black history.

Critically, it was ranked with a 92 on Metacritic and ranked the best album of the year by more than three dozen publications, almost all the main music websites, and was one of the highest acclaimed albums of the decade and one of the most listed albums in critics best of the decade lists, third only by Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West, it's still regarded as the best album of the decade and year by a female artist. It also ranks as one of the best albums by a woman artist and is compared to some of the best albums by black musicians such as Nina Simone and Aretha Franklin.

It influenced society and the entertainment industry musically, visually, economically, culturally, socially, and academically. Adele's album that did win album of the year went on to praise that album instead. Everyone does have opinions, but even she seen it as a superior body of work. And it's a damn shame that a safe conventional generic album that sold a lot is still more deserving for the top music prize of the year than an album that changed and influenced music, society and culture. Have your opinion on it but it was not an average album and levels over Adele's albums for the reasons I stated.

Honey, I think you’re overreacting. I mean look at all the Asian american artists with no grammys and other awards.

Honestly Grammy’s is just a snobby award show run by white men in business suits.
