The Grammy's are racist and they don't matter

Here comes the Twitter remark you made. Just because you mostly see fans in Twitter, DOES NOT mean you can generalize all of us BLINKs as that particular group.

K-Pop is Korean pop music, which is from an Asian country. They may not be all Asian artists, but they are Asian artists.

Oh, and here's the manufacture remark. You are not one who is seeing all the creative control of the artists. K-Pop artists do make their music, do their concepts and perform.

If you do not believe me, let's first look at the tons of receipts I am about to pull out.

Let's start with Spit It Out by MAMAMOO's Solar.

Songwriter(s): Solar • Kim-Do Hoon

Producer(s) Kim-Do Hoon • Kim Sung-won

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spit_It_Out_(Solar_song)

Let's start next with Feel Special by TWICE, and not the song, the whole album.

Track 2: Rainbow, lyrics solely written by Nayeon, a member of the group

Track 3: Get Loud, lyrics written by JQ and Jihyo

Track 4: Trick It, lyrics written by JQ and Dahyun

Track 5: Love Foolish, lyrics written by Momo and Shim Eun-Ji

Track 6: 21:29, lyrics written by all members

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feel_Special

And to end things up, because I am tired of pulling receipts to broaden the horizons of your very stuck up mindset, here is Map of the Soul: 7 by BTS.

All members have atleast wrote and contributed to one song.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Map_of_the_Soul:_7

I never said Kpop artists weren't talented, I said they were manufactured. And they are, there's no denying that. From a very young age they are put under a lot of stress and unrealistic expectations while these corporations shape them into whatever they want. It's basically brainwash.

To add to this, in the last 10 years, 8 white artists won SOTY, ROTY, and BNA.

Bruno mars is not white, pharrel williams ain't white either .where did you get your facts from?

Anyway after looking at the full list of AOTY winners  i can definitely see  that the academy focused on variety  of genres rather than races

Nonsense.... neither has gaga . Atleast with ASIB & born  this way  she definitely deserved

No no, I love Gaga but Kendrick is on another lane musically, and he truly deserves icon recognition. He is a beautiful poet and composer and story teller. So is Gaga but, that doesn’t Take anything away from Kendrick

Also i always try to see the non-racist in what people deem racist, but the Grammy’s, consciously or not, have notoriously snubbed black artists!

Girl not everything is about race. Yes racism exists and it’s a ugly thing. But I’m just so sick of people who constantly cry out racism when something doesn’t go their way or fit their own personal agenda. And no I’m not white before y’all wanna call me racist.

While I’m not always happy with the Grammy winners.. this seems to be a case of confirmation bias. If you want to believe that the Grammy’s are racist, you can look at past awards/nominees and find bits & facts that support that claim. If you want to believe that the Grammy’s are out of touch, you can do the same thing.

I believe that the Grammy’s award commercial success over quality/critical success.. but I’m careful how I analyze the show because I don’t want to manipulate the results just to fit my narrative.

I think as a whole the Grammy’s have hits and misses like every award show, and they can’t please everyone. However, I don’t think they do anything out of malice or toxic prejudice.

The Grammy's (like any award) don't mean anything in a real sense it's just a literal trophy but most of these award institutions are inherently out of touch...i think more artists should start not going or refuse to have their work be submitted for the award as a boycott honestly. stop trying to please an institution that constantly invalidates artists and creates TONE DEAF/RACIST sub categories to keep "certain" artists out of winning larger awards

And what's the difference from 1989? 1989 is an album were Taylor talks about love and breakups.

The thing is, both albums were the most important female albums from their respective years (BEYONCÉ being in the top 10 of best selling records when her album was released 3 weeks before the year ended, and selling more than Taylor if you add the sales from 2013 and 2014) and helped boost the sales of albums. Also, Beyoncé made a great impact on music dropping the album with all those music videos with zero promotion and stopping the internet.

What I meant on my post is, they are both just pop records that are not as groundbreaking conceptually than others in AOTY category? Yeah, maybe, but if that's true, why Beyoncé lost to an white artist who had and 'better' (lyrically, conceptually, sonically) album, and Taylor won against a black artist who had a 'better' (lyrically, conceptually, sonically) album? What's the difference here?

1) 1989 was a juggernaut. It's one of the biggest pop records ever.

2) Taylor actually writes her own songs.

I hope that you don't put this on the same pedestal with ST, which was mostly forgotten shortly after the surprise release week.

It didn't make any sense to give AOTY to Kendrick when 1989 existed.

It was on par with 21.
