Shaney 5,515
I do agree that maybe Enigma could have been a bit more detailed prop wise, but paintings/drawings are usually always going to look cooler than what comes to fruition. You also have to think about how these crazy props are able to move across the stage and come off of Gaga's body for a transition into the next song. 5 hours ago, Monsterxo said: Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Source: Â Seems to me like Gaga did a good job sticking to the vision, it just didn't come out as cool as the photos. That's okay. She clearly has great ideas for Chromatica though. Who drew all these?
Chromatican 4,046
It seems like Gaga is taking a lot of inspiration from Ridley Scott's Alien recently and I love it.
2School4Cool 6,434
I love all of these concepts! It makes me happy to see some of this aesthetic coming into the Chromatica era! See The Best In Everyone

More than anything seeing these sketches the final concepts are there - but with like half the amount of what was planned for each. So the final show just looks like a rough draft of what they wanted to do. Compare the dancers claw outfits to the what we actually got - the claw remained, the rest of the details to sell it just were left out. The healing chamber looked to have a second component to the set that would've been the focal point - instead we just got the lounger that has no stage presence. The elements of her entrance that would have almost made her look like she arrived in a twister. Just lots of elements that really would have made it feel more carefully crafted and less disjointed. The sketches really sell a Ridley Scott feel that is consistent in the concepts through out - but the execution and dropped portions just make the show as is feel very disjointed and lacking in presence. Yeah the entrance could have been made better with some sort of coil wrapped around her that has fog coming out of different faucets. Maybe it was a case of other people limiting what Gaga could do like how MTV didn't allow the OG Applause performance, but then again, why would she sign a contract if MGM did that to her. Who knows. I do agree though and wish the concepts were more fleshed out. That art is some of my favorite content i've seen from Gaga.

It's almost guaranteed to be budget constraints probably coupled with them wanting her show to be more "inviting" don't want to scare the tourists looking for a Gaga pop show with a full sex driven Ridley Scott fantasy. ICouldntThinkOfOne 215
Imagine, just for a second, how many designers and art houses were contacted to work on this show... Â ...and now, look at what we got. Â Who ever Eli is, he's someone who shouldnt have been given this amount of input. Â There are so many ways to do video game style, and so many ways to style wigs! This fell flat.
gagzus 15,829
the photoshoot was just a scrapped one for King Kong magazine i doubt it had anything to ACTUALLY do with enigma tbh because it doesn't match the alien aesthetic those sketches have.
