You can check everything from The Fame Monster to A Star Is Born, she writes and produces every single song. Even the solo Bradley songs on ASIB, with the exception of like a couple.

nah lead writer on all of Joanne

don't quote me, but i wanna say she's literally written every song in her discography?

She has writing credits on all of them but the user you quoted was correct in a way with what he said.

Perfect Illusion and Come To Mama were both written by other people and Gaga went in and made extremely tiny adjustments to a few of the words.

And with TIHTY it was confirmed that Gaga changed I think a word or two, but helped with rearranging some things so she got writing credit.

i’m late to this thread but does she EVER produce her own music?

Yeah:

She produces  every single track.

Venus was special because she produced it ALONE, without anyone's help apart from Madeon's minor tweaks but that was really her creation solely.

Gaga also from my point of view downplays her own involvement in any project. Like how she gave almost all of the credit from a Star is born to Bradley Cooper.

She also likes to overplay credit.

She gave RedOne writing credit and he simply came up with the "Ra-Ra-Roma-Roma-Ma" bit.

Tbh I thought she wasn't involved as a producer at all. I thought Venus was the only one she produced.

As far as I know, Venus was the only song she ever produced solely by herself. She has production credits on just about all of her songs if I'm not mistaken.

I remember seeing the credits for Diggin  My Grave and being disappointed she co-produced it but didn’t co-write it. So if I had a choice I much prefer she co-writes her songs than has any producer input.  With that Zane Lowe interview earlier this year I think she hinted that the songs from Chromatica were majority written with her and Bloodpop and then they were shipped around to other people for their additions and edits.

She said on the Zane Lowe interview that she wanted to try and put out the dopest record she can which I also think is f***ing awesome! She knows that she hasn’t put out a pop record for 7 years and she wants the music to be the best she’s ever done.

This is the first time in her career that she has used Max so I think she feels like she doesn’t need to prove herself anymore and try to produce every single song. I think she will always be a co-writer though. I honestly don’t mind as long as she’s the performer.

The only songs she isn't the lead writer are Til It Happens To You, Perfect Illusion and Come to Mama. I feel like I'm missing one.

not Chromatica

It's interesting because judging by this interview you'd think the production of Chromatica was a pretty hands-on and intimate experience for her. At least that's the picture I painted in my mind. And then flash forward to the PAPER Mag interview where she says there's so many producers on it that she'd have to make an Excel spreadsheet to fit them all... I mean it could be both—Chromatica has been in the making for quite some time now so the process must have had a number of phases.

Artists do that all the time. I don't think it means anything. There's often songs on albums that the main artist has no production credits for, it's totally normal. We don't know if she has no production credit on the entire album yet, but I really doubt that's the case. If it is then that's another story, but again I highly doubt it.

She is the lead writer :awkney:

RedOne only helped her with just either the oh-oh-oh-oh-oh chorus hook or the opening rah rah hook, I can't remember which one but that's it. The rest is all written by her
