Something Gaga must incorporate into future shows

The one thing that I think is lacking from Gaga's performances that I see the other greats do is revamp their older hits. Whenever Madonna, Britney Spears, or Kylie Minogue perform a song that would be dated, they update the style to make it fit the rest of the album, or the theme of the show. Sometimes it's just to change things up if a song is tired (if the artist is tired, then the fans are too).

For example, Kylie Minogue's cabaret rendition of "Locomotion," her first hit from the 80s that has aged rather poorly to modern standards. Adding a new twist to an old hit makes it worth listening to

Or what about Madonna's slow and sultry sitar-based version of "Like A Virgin." Similar to what Kylie did, she added sex appeal to a cheesy 80s song.

Spoiler

I would have posed the HD one but I prefer this wig over the curly one :sis:

And we need to talk about what Britney planned on doing for her Domination show, this trap remix of "I'm a Slave 4 U" deserves recognition, but I haven't seen anyone talking about it

Spoiler

I saved the best for last, Madonna worked in an unreleased demo from Erotica titled "You Thrill Me," and remixed it into a disco anthem to fit the Confessions Tour. This remix is refreshing and has replay value.

Spoiler

The point I'm getting at is that Gaga's shows need to start remixing her old hits, because hearing "Poker Face" or "Just Dance" with the same instrumental as it had ten years ago is boring :lana: Adding an electric guitar or a real drummer doesn't bring anything new to the table for these hits when they're being performed in the same way as always. It would be the ultimate serve to take her old songs and perform them in the style of Chromatica. And that's that on that, thank you :madge:

I feel like the jazz versions of old hits at her residency may have been a way to experiment with this. It would be cool to see this in the future.

Another example would be Björk that makes completely new arrangements to go with the instrumentation of her current album... of course this is a lot to ask for Gaga, but I agree that some songs on her shows are just becoming boring (not Just Dance and Bad Romance tough, they are that bitch)

Yall might disagree with me, but lemme just say it - Gaga doesn't put much effort in her tours.

She has never bothered to make new renditions, connect the songs with transitions, make new completely new performances. It's the same thing with a different outfit on. Her stage presence saves her.

Sorry :poot:

She needs to 70% ditch choreos and rely on acting and stage props/theatrics.

I'll tell you what gives me pause: I don't want any songs totally revamped; Fans go to concerts to hear songs they know and can sing along to, not to hear a pop hit made into a hard rock anthem. With that said, I did enjoy the acoustic TEOG performance from JWT, and I wouldn't mind minor adjustments to certain songs, but I prefer for them to be in the form of remixed intros/outros, or something similar, rather than totally changing the song.

I totally meant to add this but I forgot as I was writing!

There’s something so nostalgic about the original versions though

I kind of disagree. Locals go to concerts to hear the hits that they recognize and sing along to. Fans go to shows to see their fave performing their newest songs from the album they're promoting.

She added some John Wayne instrumentation on LoveGame since Coachella and I really think it was a breath of fresh air on the song, you don't always have to do the most

Not to be a fake fan but at the Joanne World Tour I literally sat down when "Just Dance" came on :messga: It's so boring to hear the same song years in a row

But sometimes a total revamp is a really great thing, In the Sticky And Sweet Tour, Madonna totally revamped La Isla Bonita, and the song became even more of an bop

Yeah it sounds like the fans are worried they may like the newer version better than the older one :billie:

that's true, I noticed this, always doing the same original version... and am I imagining things, or is the choreography also always the same for the classic songs?

Better staging. TMB and the BTWB both had stages that transported the audience to an alternate reality for an hour+ while the aR & JWT stages were just kind of bland imo
