i hope this means collab!!!!!

Seriously I would love that!

But I don't see that happening...I understand they rejected it, I think it's because she offered them to open the BTWB.

Like they are just a starting little band...Sorry no that's actually so condescending, Die Antwoord have been existing for few years and they have a fan base already they don't need some "help from Gaga"

This is actually what they are saying in their video, which I found quite funny!

And Tara's comment...my sister would have done better and she is 15. You better shut up if you have nothing interesting to say.

Tara can be funny, but sometimes I'm just thinking, shut the **** up.

She's like an annoying sister.

someone needs to remind gaga that having a hit song doesn't matter LOL she even used to say this herself

They started it, but she shouldn't have said anything.

Her tweets just gave the band a whole lot of publicity, unless it was all a PR stunt.

If it wasn't a PR stunt then shame on Gaga for stooping to their level.

*cough* breed compassion *cough*

Tara can be funny, but sometimes I'm just thinking, shut the **** up.

I kind of agree, but Tara takes up for Gaga and it's nice sometimes that Gaga is standing up for herself now. She can't be trampled on all the time

Yea, but she shouldn't preach two different things. If people in the public eye or music industry say things about her or parody her, I believe she shouldn't say a word/or just be classy about it. If she does say stuff, they thrive of the attention their getting.

Lets face it, if you parody the worlds biggest pop star right now with a relentless army of fans, you're asking for attention.

Its a bit sad that Gaga, and fans, have used her sales and achievements to argue back, I didn't think she gave a ****.

I've had some time now to think about all that happened and I would like to share my opinion and thoughts on the subject now.

Yes, this band Die Antwood made a video which is really obvious in its intention and attitude towards Gaga. Their dislike of her and the Western world is obvious and I understand their commentary and acknowledge it in the sense of its importance that Africa is not really what people believe it is.

However, I find it sad that while they seem to be fighting hatred and misconception, they are making use of the exact same tools: they are ridiculing Gaga, they mock her and the Western world which cannot only be found in the video itself, but especially in the lyrics to the song. I understand what they are trying to say, because they are known for addressing pop culture and Americanism in a negative way, but I strongly disagree with the way this is being practices.

What bothers me the most is the way Gaga reacted. A tweet about her being sad about this would have been enough but she did of course need to bring up the fact that they "don't have a hit" and that she sold out her entire South American leg of the Born This Way Ball. Now such behavior is extremely new to her as we knew a negativity-rejecting and kind side of her. Seeing this makes me a little sad, to be honest, because she is a compassionate and open human being. But she seems to have forgotten about her "don't give negativity any energy" policy with the way she responded.

Other than that, I am overly annoyed by the way how Gaga's employees and friends come for her defense as if she couldn't handle this on her own. Tara is very nice in person, she is a very sweet person, but sometimes she should rather keep quiet about such things because, first of all, Gaga is the one in charge and second, she is not the star of the show. While Gaga was usually the one who reacted professionally in such situations - no matter from who she received some kind of negative feedback, she was the one who would not say anything, which was the most appropriate way to handle this, I think. But no matter if Paul or Tara, they were always smacking those people's asses on Twitter. The thing is that the fact they are doing it on a social network looks a little pathetic and pitiful in my eyes. Like school kids disliking their posts on Facebook or sending out rude comments to their class mates they don't really like.

A phone call by Gaga's management can always be made to the representatives of the concerned ones. While this isn't really necessary, I think, because those ridiculing others ridicule themselves in the end, I think in-house communication can be made happen. It is just sad that Team Gaga a.k.a. Tara in this case needs to operate as Gaga's mouthpiece, and I don't even want to know if Gaga approves all of this, and uses such an unprofessional and immature way to address those that don't understand or have nothing better to do in their faux-artist lives. Keep it classy, Tara, next time.

 :nacho:

p.s correction: the "SA" is referring to South Africa where Die Antwoord are from.

Die Antwoord are known for being incorrect and rude and crude in every possible way ever,

I've been following them since they were known as the Max Normal Project, a group only known to some here in South Africa.

They leach onto successful people and get reactions out of them, its how they grow their fanbase and get their name out.

They started out doing pubs and small halls here in SA and are now selling out shows in America etc, face of Alexander Wang.

I just kind think its funny how Yo-landi, the lead female vocals for DA calls herself PRAWN STAR and then in the video they have the cross-dresser gaga birth a Prawn? Its a weird contradiction and I think DA are playing a game, and getting Gaga to respond is something applaudable.

That being said, I also kinda feel like I'd get pissed if someone suggested I was a sick, filthy insect infected person.

Sure gaga is all about breeding compassion, but shes also human. We all cant be breeding compassion and being b---hes when someone esle doesn't do it.

just my two cents.

also, if people understood everything that DA were saying, they would not be doing as well as they are..

:nacho: :ohwell: :pressed:

Evanescence

YO YO YO YO YO

There's a big ****ing difference between "breeding compassion" and being a ****ing saint all the time. She's trying to spread this idea of loving each other and yourselves for who you are, but there are ****ing limits. She isn't saying you're supposed to love a ****ing serial killer for who he is, so similarly, when a group of ****ing morons decide to depict Gaga as prawn-infested lion food, it seems only natural that she call them out for it especially when she explicitly said she was a fan. This is pure hatred through and through and does not deserve any ****ing compassion.

You kids still think this world is all sunshine and happiness. Sometimes people and/or relationships just can't be fixed. Gaga aka Stefani is still a human being who deserves to punch back when someone clearly overstepped the lines. Saying she's backtracking is a hyperbole in the scale of millions. If Lady Gaga called you a ****ing retard, you're not going to be: o I still love you. You're going to be ****ing pissed.

Peace
