DiskoBaby 1,929
The coronavirus is worse then it was in April and we're still on a lock down. Postponing it for a month seemed really pointless to me. "But she was doing philanthropy work for Covid-19" but would releasing a new album really have gotten in the way of that? "She didn't have time to do the promo she wanted to" there's only three weeks until it comes out, I fail to see what kind of promo she can do now that she couldn't do leading up till April. What difference did one month really make?
tomsches 17,392
That's what I was thinking. But at least Europe is doing much better and is reopening. So she can get them coins there, I guess.
Butters Stotch 5,364
I think at this point its inevitable... there's no option but to release it. The album is ready, maybe the visuals are ready. My point is that they maybe tried to hold it as much as they could to see if things got better, but they can't hold it anymore. Electric Mary 1,051
agree. I don't get it, I think it should be released around the end of June but hey we're getting new gaga music in 3 weeks, let's celebrate that
Aglaya 8,388
Well, most countries are now starting to open their shops again and returning to normal life once again. Covid-19 was way worse a month ago that it is now, and that's a fact. Maybe not in the US or America in general, but for Asia and Europe, april was the worst part of the pandemic. That's a huge difference if ask tell me. could mean anything
Miel 15,009
My guess is that it was primarily a label decision (fear of losing sales), and Gaga, begrudgingly or not, decided to go forward with it. And thus decided to do something actually useful with her time while behind the scenes action figured out when and what to do with the album. 3 points in and ready for more
ANTI WP 19,825
Because to plan and schedule a DIFFERENT ROLL OUT
Miel 15,009
Just now, Aglaya said: Well, most countries are now starting to open their shops again and returning to normal life once again. That's a huge difference if ask tell me. Seeing multiple regions (Oceania, Asia, some parts of Europe) recover much faster than the United States is... something else. Am I jealous? Incredibly pissed that that could have been us if we had adequate healthcare, government assistance, and a cultural adherence to following CDC guidelines to help save the lives of others? Maybe... 3 points in and ready for more
AndrewGr 6,022
I don't think her plan was to release it now and monsters don't seem to understand that it isn't a case of the sooner, the better. I think she/Interscope was just afraid of the leaks and we'll get an era with 0 promo and performances, nothing like what she had originally planned. Unless the album is so great that people will be still interested for those in October-November.
Head Empty 25,067
They had a big campaign planned, and needed time to rethink everything. Even if there won't be a ton of promo now, at least they took the time to actually think out an appropriate strategy instead of blindly releasing it in april. HermioneT 1,998
Well, I think you can do a lot of rescheduling and new planning in a little more than a month. And now she can roughly assume from when on public appearances, TV shows and so on might be possible again or at least can do so better than in April. She / hers
alsemanche 93,625
They probably needed the time to work on Together at Home then adapt the roll out + promo for online platforms Soft, soothing, and succulent
GagaUnderYou 4,981
Together At Home was their priority & they needed a moment to rethink the promo strategies. Probably see which talk shows are still going, etc.
DiskoBaby 1,929
I'm hearing a lot of excuses of her planning a different promo rollout but couldn't she have still done that after it was released? Promo doesnt stop after an album comes out, she still could've done online promo and still promoted it after the album came out.
