There is not really any such thing as the vocals not being mastered fully but the instrumental being mastered fully. Either the track we have is mastered, or it's not.

And also, often demos have effects on the master bus just to get a vibe of what they will sound like when they're properly mastered. Technically, this demo appears to have had some mastering (-7.9 integrated loudness is difficult to achieve without it, as well as 3.0 loudness range - the readings I get for this demo).

Fundamentally, it is a demo. These terms being bandied around without barely a notion of their meaning is so irksome  

This just isn't accurate at all. Yes Stereo Mastering is the simplest way to do it, but Stem Mastering is a thing as well - it depends on the needs of the song when it's used. Typically it's most useful when working on a song or project that you may need multiple versions of. Pop songs commonly will use it because it makes it easier to go and make changes, new mixes or have instrumentals later on should they need them - which is very important since bigger artists have their songs used for other media all the time. That being said we don't know what stage of mixing or mastering any part of this Free Woman could be in - all we can do is listen and identify the instrumental sounds more or less "Complete" and the vocals don't.

Nope, The first ROM Demo was before Ariana was part of the Project. The Insiders said that the ‚deep‘ Voice from the first Snippet was from an old Demo. The Song got polished and cleaned up w the addition of Ariana etc.

The snippet with Ari’s vocals was from the final mastered version.
