Getting a good debut number doesn't equal to hit, Craig teas :billie:

It does look like a hit, and we can brag about it

But it literally falling into the top 30 the next week is not good :poot:

There are only a limited amount of Pop songs charting right now, the music landscape has evolved a lot over the past years. The fact that SL somehow managed to debut at No. 5 alone should be a testimony of its success. Also you don't get to decide what a makes a song a hit or not, SL did what it had to do and I can't wait for ROM to be an even bigger of a hit than SL was.

I can see people being subjective over their definitions of hit but SL is definitely not a flop. Stop pushing that narrative :neyde:

it did last 9 weeks instead of 6 weeks like perfect illusion.

i guess spending a month as one of the top 100 most popular songs in the country is where we have placed the bar for success nowadays for the legendary miss Lady Gaga :huntyga:

I think most fans call it a flop not because of the charts but because of the perception of the song. It’s in the Bad Romance or Born this way level. That’s all

And that's the problem. People need to stop comparing her singles relative to each other and assess their performances in the era or the environment that they're charting in.

Shocked you are still active on Facebook. The only people I know who use it now are 40+.

:triggered:

All of my friends use it, but strictly for sharing memes at this point in our life, but I think it depends on age group. I'm 27, and so it's sort of like a force of habit for me, but younger people probably don't use it as much since they didn't grow up with it and so it's "boring" to them.

Neither can 95% of Gaga's peers yet you're calling SL a flop. :oprah:

THANK YOU.

The music industry has changed drastically since 2013 and so has her chart power. Don’t expect an Applause-sized hit where she’s in the top 10 for 14 freakin’ weeks.

I think the huge success of Shallow really gave fans unrealistic expectations. She’s not in bad shape like Katy Perry but she’s also not Taylor.

I am just glad she’s a decade-plus into her career and still has moderate charting power.

Remember when PI peaked at 15 and Chained To The Rhythm at 4?

Now SL peaked at 5

Will we get our revenge when Daisies debut at 16? :nails:

I adore the stadium shaker PI but it was a bad single choice imo. Especially for a lead :rip:

Idk what they could have used instead though :emma:
