Yes but “I’d rather be dry BUT at least I’m alive”

”I’m in the downpour at least I’m alive”

so “Dry but” would be where “Downpour”is

Wasn't it

"I'm in the downpour but at least I'm alive"?

Wasn't the "but" always there?

"...dry but..." together doesn't sound like downpour though

Makes sense. Even after studying the booklet I still sing the wrong lyrics on Born This Way and ARTPOP.

I still don’t understand all of the lyrics to ARTPOP. Like, Donatella? Bitch, I might as well be speaking another language

The fact I could hear "dry"

But no way they're singing "rather be"

Yes but if you say “dry but” quickly and with potatoe ass quality you may hear downpour.

The OG was always “I’m out in the/a downpour”

I can already see Ajay pausing the song at “I’d rather be dry, but at least I’m alive,” and being like, “Wow....” *a minute pause* “....that’s some profound ****. They’re saying that even though they’re in the rain, they’d rather be dry because the rain causes them misery. It’s a metaphor for their pain, y’all....Wow....”

Hmm I don't even see how it fits in the song :air:  "I'm in the downpour" is a longer phrase than "I'd rather be dry"

How can’t you see that?

"It’s coming down on me, water like misery, I let it rain on me"- she decided not to fight and let it rain on her... What else she could do...

"I’d rather be dry” - she didn’t want to face her pain and trauma

"but at least I’m alive" - now she can finally move on

that’s simple

If I like it, then that's what I get!
