Am I the only one that thinks it's just a matter of time that SJWs will say the "be free" line is problematic? Like. "this white privileged woman thinks women in poverty situation under abusive relationships can be free just by listening a pop song" :billie:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Is anyone else saddened by how short this era is going to be?

If ROM is releasing on the 22nd (which seems very likely, at this point) - the era itself will be, well, pretty empty.

Because of streaming, post release date singles are not 'events' - and after all, since we will have already heard the tracks, there's not a lot to get excited about.

I mean, we'll have SL and ROM before the album... and that's it?

Even if she releases a promo single next week, it won't have it's moment to shine and it'll only be one track.

In Joanne, we heard Perfect Illusion, Million Reasons, A-Yo and Sinners Prayer during the dive bar tour, along with - possibly - others, too.

The excitement leading up to the album release was real, and the new material really kept us going from early September to late October.

This time round, we're looking at such a short window of excitement and I just don't get it.

We're all in lockdown suck at home, fans are hungry for material and they're just not delivering.

Really, really disappointing.

My only guess is that it's solely a commercial decision to try and boost release week streams as much as possible to make up for the loss of revenue in other areas.

And if ROM is releasing on Friday 22nd, those streams will - if I'm right - count towards the album release week numbers, too. So, I guess it's strategically clever for the #1 spot... but for fans, it feels so uneventful and so empty.

Just my opinion, of course.

It's fanmade by an account that summarises everything blade/mr s says for twitter consumption lol

I wish she would release something like this. Maybe when she updates tracklist on Tuesday :green:

Aren't we supposed to get several music videos according to insiders?

I feel you and agree and it's quite frustrating but makes sense that they would go the route of trying to Maxime on sales as much given the current situation.

Hopefully as restrictions slowly go away promo will follow.

Hmmm

I have heard they have promo plans following release

Also re the streaming era, they can combat that by not adding the 3rd single to big playlists'. Once it's sent to radio in July, they can add it to the main playlists and release MV and it grows organically.

But I doubt they'd waste a good song not going on the playlists during release week

Well, apparently three were filmed prior lockdown - we assume that three includes SL and ROM, which leaves only one MV after the album itself is out.

So after May 29th, we'll probably get one new MV and a few performances whenever possible - but in terms of new material, it's gonna be extremely light.

I’m totally here for a Fortnite event. The visuals would be so cool.

Bloodpop is really making his pop era for the books :enigma:
