Message seems to be the #1 most important thing for her, that said, she's also a sucker for vocals. ROM, I think, will at least give her the latter. That said, ROM's lyrics aren't basic or anything like that. I mean, "I'm in the downpour, at least I'm alive," seems pretty poetic, honestly. I love her reactions cause she's one of the few people that actually provides meaningful commentary instead of just screaming "YAAAAASSS" every 10 seconds (though, she does that too). I think she'll react to this album in the same way she reacted to BTW and ARTPOP: she'll like it, but I still think Joanne will be her favorite album. You're right, she always tries to look for the deeper meaning in things... and because there wasn't one in Stupid Love, she couldn't really connect with it. She hasn't learned that while songs can be deep, some songs by the same artist can just be fun and be a bop. It doesn't have to be a deep song for it to be a great song. In Stupid Love, its the instrumental that makes that song go off. That said, like you said above, there are some great lyrics (from what Gaga has said) that are pretty deep.
