But I wonder if she also feels like she's exaggerating / just saying things for the sake of hype/sales, or if she truly believes it once she repeats it enough. She's told us that she's kinda revisionist with some of her personal history (e.g. the MTN Prelude), so maybe she is with other areas of her life too, and convinces herself her current-passion has been her always-passion?: When I look back on my life it’s not that I don’t want to see things exactly as they happened, it’s just that I prefer to remember them in an artistic way. And truthfully the lie of it all is much more honest because I invented it. [...] It’s not that I have been dishonest; it’s just that I loathe reality. I'm not saying she completely makes up these statements -- I don't think she is -- but I do wonder if she's just telling herself that one of her past kinda-important side-goals (jazz, movie acting, performing at XYZ Famous Venue, feeling better through makeup, etc.) was now always the main goal or the sole guiding star she's been chasing, once it becomes her relevant passion. (P.S. I don't see this as a character fault or anything so don't read this post as me bashing her. I'm just curious how her mind works and how she reinterprets current and past events to move through trauma, her career highs and lows, etc. It's just fascinating and curious the same way I'd feel about anybody I'm a big fan of, or feel a great deal of affection for.) This. That doesn’t mean we don’t like her but look how many beauty gurus would flat out lie about things just to get you to buy things. I mean at the end of the day, she needs to make money and saying “hey guys, this is the new product. Like I sorta like it and it’s spreads well. So yeah go buy it!” She built up this art persona and has talked about Warhol in the past so it’s on brand for her to mention Warhol. what bothers me about this thread is everyone analyzing it like it’s some fine artwork at a museum. “She uses make up like painting on a canvas so she can become a living Warhol artwork. She’s trying to send a message of what ARTPOP is and the conditions of society and the gays and blah blah blah” it’s not that deep and I doubt she thinks that deeply. This is like a day job for her, the music world knows they don’t make money on albums anymore hence why they rather put Chromatica on hold to kick start Haus. It’s just ridiculous that people take everything to heart.

With the Factory, he created a lot of work. And with that work came money. Yes, Warhol poked at consumerism, but was also a part of it (eventually). She is basically saying she now has a solid group of people, making work, collaborating, on a new level. The Fame and ARTPOP or whatever were Warholian on a surface level in terms of visuals, because she was LITERALLY using Warhol references visually. Haus Labs is Warholian in concept, not in visuals. Difference. I wouldnt question it. Maybe for once just stop criticizing this woman for anything and everything she does. All of this. Also, Warhol wasn’t “poking fun at commercialism”, he intentionally commercialized his work so it’d be prolific and consumable en masse. It was commentary and consumerism, not satire.
